*GRANT WRITER* *JOB SUMMARY*
Researches funding sources for federal, non-federal and private grant opportunities for Federally Qualified Health Center; writes and submits grant proposals while updating and maintaining the grants database.
*GRANT WRITER* *ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
* Works collaboratively with the Director of Development and Community Engagement to identify funding needs by analyzing the structure of programs and service delivery.
* Conducts and completes donor research to identify prospective Federal, Non-Federal, Private Foundation and Corporate grant funding opportunities.
* Writes grant proposals; prepares supporting documents in response to requests for proposals; adapts existing proposals as necessary.
* Works with the Director of Development and Community Engagement to obtain the necessary information required to effectively respond to the proposal or grant application.
* Researches service modalities, county information, company needs assessment and any information that will support strong proposal submissions.
* Maintains up-to-date files and grant database for the tracking of grant renewals, deadlines, and execution.
* Attends pre-proposal and de-brief meetings as necessary.
* Exercises independent judgment in organizing and writing program proposals and applications.
* Delivers all grant submissions ahead of deadlines.
*Requirements*
*GRANT WRITER EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE*
* Bachelor’s degree in communications, business administration, grant administration, or similar field required.
Master’s degree preferred.
* Masters’ degree in similar fields preferred but not required
* Over ten years of related experience and a proven track record in government, foundation and corporate grant writing and submission required
* Understanding of private, federal, and county funded non-profit funding endeavors and strategies.
* Demonstrated knowledge of diverse grant application procedures and best practice in the nonprofit sector.
* Comprehensive experience in researching and identifying funding opportunities, and analyzing diverse data and possessing the ability to work collaboratively and independently to achieve stated goals.
* Healthcare experience required
