Job Description Job Purpose: The Manager, Business Affairs Administration will be primarily responsible for tracking options and deadlines for various Business Affairs agreements.
This role supports studios within our USG umbrella and reports into the VP, Business Affairs Administration.
Essential Responsibilities: Review agreements and other relevant documents to track and manage all pertinent dates and deadlines across Universal Studio Group (Universal Content Productions, Universal Television, Universal Television Alternative Studios, Universal International Studios) and NBCUniversal Network Groups (NBC, Peacock, USA, SYFY, Bravo, Oxygen, E!, First Run Syndication) for all deals related to talent, underlying rights, script development and licensing deals.
Administer departmental applications (Salesforce, ELF, DMS and Sharepoint) for contract terms, dates and contacts for talent, production, and license deals such as scripts, distribution agreements, license agreements, and all forms of producers, writers, directors and performer contracts.
Effectively and professionally communicate deal terms and deadlines to Creative, Finance, Production, Business Affairs and Legal Executives concisely, accurately and in a timely fashion.
Tracking due dates until resolution.
Follow-up with appropriate contacts to retrieve necessary information to complete open-ended deal terms such as delivery date, exploitation date, etc.
Qualifications Basic Requirements: Minimum two years of experience in Television Business Affairs Administration or paralegal setting in entertainment matters Minimum two years of experience and proficiency using Excel (including creating contract abstracts and/or deal tracking) Ability to understand and translate complex legal provisions into easy-to-understand language for entry into departmental applications and in communications with Creative, Finance and Production Executives.
Desired Characteristics: Familiarity with Windows operating system and Microsoft office Suite, Outlook, Teams Ability to work with strong personalities Computer literacy, previous experience with database application management Good business judgment and self-confidence Outstanding analytical skills High attention to detail Ability to work in a high volume and fast-paced environment Must be able to work and thrive in a team environment Professional and effective communication skills Additional Requirements: Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.
Must have work authorization to work in the United States.
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
