Position Summary
The position is created to ensure the safety and quality of the products, to attain the standard production cases and the standard yield, to maintain the required documentation of the line records, to maximize the condition of the machineries on a line and the utilization of the labor force, and to ensure the safe operation of the line.
Essential functions and duties
In general, the Supervisor I is also assigned to operate a line; however, on the permanent basis, Supervisor I may be assigned to manage a shift when a Chief Superintendent is not available and/or on a temporary basis (weeks or months), the superintendent I may be assigned to oversee a shift as deemed necessary by management.
If Supervisor I is in charge of a shift, the responsibilities are those of a Chief Superintendent or as deemed necessary by management.
Primary responsibilities:
Ensure the safety and quality of the products that the line produces.
Maintain and ensure the safe operation of the line.
Produce the standard numbers of cases as required.
Attain the standard yield of the products per company requirements.
Generate and file all reports that are required by Standard Operation Procedures.
Ensure that all process control reports are properly and timely filled, and they do not indicate any abnormal figures.
If there are abnormal figures, take prompt actions to correct the conditions.
Utilize the Production Supervisor II or III in the most effective manner to pursuit and fulfill the responsibilities as assigned.
Manage the Utility operators and machine operators in the most effective manner to pursuit and fulfill the responsibilities assigned.
Must inspect machinery and if substandard conditions exist, file work orders with the Maintenance Department.
The Production Supervisor must make certain that no substandard maintenance has been performed.
At the end or the beginning of the shift, check the cleaning conditions of the line that you are supervising.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or three plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in a high-speed manufacturing facility
Good communication skills
Strong mathematical skills
Ability to troubleshoot and think outside the box
Solution and team oriented
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access)

Vocational training or post-secondary degree in a technical field
Experience using a CMMS system
