Sterigenics’s Corporate Engineering Internship program’s goal is to provide an engaging environment for our interns to launch their career in the corporate landscape and encourage them to achieve their goals and develop their skills.
As an Intern, you'll have the opportunity to get involved in meaningful projects and take part in “real-work” experience in your field.
You’ll have the opportunity to network with industry leaders and meet and build lasting relationships with peers.
Our engineering interns work 40 hours a week during a 10-12-week summer program and are based out of our facilities in Grand Prairie, TX; Charlotte, NC; and Los Angeles, CA.
The Engineering Intern(s) will be responsible in assisting with various projects within our Engineering department.
Our interns will have the opportunity to gain experiences across many functions, including process design, process controls, automation, safety, and maintenance engineering.
Responsibilities
Participate in/lead special projects as assigned and directed through the engineering mentor.
Projects may include the support or ownership of engineering the maintenance, installation, and potential upgrade of processing equipment and utilities.
Presentation of said projects with respect to progress, as well as a final presentation to Global Engineering Leadership Team at the end of the internship term.
Receive coaching, guidance, and professional development under an assigned Engineering technical leader and will benefit from working in a matrix organization.
Perform tasks as assigned with attention to detail across functional areas in the Engineering, EHS, Maintenance and Operations departments.
Contribute to team discussions, including asking questions around planning, execution, and conclusions reached on the assigned tasks.
Creation, Redlining and Review of Drawings (P&IDs, PFDs, Electrical Diagrams, etc.
)
Participate in any internship trainings / lunch & learns to better understand our business
Potential travel to other sites, as projects require and permit.
Qualifications
Education
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in an ABET-Accredited program in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering.
Junior or senior level undergraduate status
Cumulative 3.

Experience and Skills
Willing to learn, dependable, and would work well in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Word, Power Point)
2D and 3D CAD Experience (AutoCAD LT preferred)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery, especially around planning and execution.
Desire to work in the sterilization and medical device industry.
