Defense contractor involved with product development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles in the Los Angeles International Airport area.

Purpose:
The Mechanical Assembler is critical to MLS’ success in providing quality products to our customers in a timely fashion.
This position is responsible for executing manufacturing/assembly instructions under direct supervision.

Job Duties:
Build product mechanical subassemblies and/or final assemblies
Test products or subassemblies for functionality or quality with oversight
Follow drawings, production routers, guidelines and/or diagrams to ensure product specifications and tolerance levels are within limits
Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for health, safety, and environmental compliance
Maintain clean production equipment and work areas
Measure and record data associated with operating equipment
Transfer hazardous or non-hazardous waste materials to collection areas for disposal, recycling, or reuse
Adhere to established manufacturing and material control policies and procedures in compliance with ISO quality standards
Utilize cellular and lean manufacturing techniques throughout production
Assist other areas of the manufacturing operations on an as-needed basis
Adhere to all FOD policies and procedures
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
Competency in MLS’s procedures and processes as identified in MLS’s training matrix
Must be able to read and mechanical drawings and specifications
Basic computer skills
Must be able to speak/read/write English
Strong work ethic and team player
Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs
