As an industrial/manufacturing engineering intern on our engineering team, you will play
a critical role on our team increasing production rate, quality, and safety by:
Developing detailed work instructions and managing manufacturing routing workflows in the MES system
Assisting with time and process studies to evaluate work content, establish standards and labor requirements
Analyzing production processes to identify and eliminate wastefulness and increase efficiency
Implementing initiatives to support our ultimate goal of reducing the cost of housing in Southern California

Model/Z was started in 2024 to design and build affordable housing at a rate, cost, and quality unknown to the industry.
The Model/Z product and process is designed to produce a high-quality, low-cost, net-zero ready, and most importantly, standardized, modular housing product.

Requirements
Pursuing B.
S.
in Engineering (industrial, manufacturing, mechanical or similar discipline)
1+ year of experience in operations analysis, workflow design, manufacturing process design (internship and project experience counts)
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
Self-starter that has demonstrated the ability to define and own a process from scratch and roll out that process through adept communication to a diverse team
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Passion for reducing homelessness in Southern California
NICE TO HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
Working knowledge of typical manufacturing execution systems and quality management systems
Lean Six Sigma Certification
Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D CAD design software like SOLIDWORKS or Autodesk Inventor
