We are searching for an experienced Facilities Management Night Shift Technician at our Goldsmith Campus - Westchester campus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Facilities Management Night-Shift Technician performs a variety of nightly, preventative maintenance tasks independently or as part of a team in such trade areas as electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, carpentry, locksmith, and/or painting, as assigned.
This position works 7:30pm to 4:30am, Wednesday through Sunday.
This position reports directly to Facilities Management Night-Shift Manager.
Job Duties
• Performs a variety of maintenance and general repairs, independently or as part of a team, for campus buildings and equipment which may include electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, carpentry, locksmith services, and/or painting, as assigned.
Performs installation work and on-going preventive maintenance.
• Works from blueprints, schematic diagrams, equipment manuals, and computer-generated work orders to determine appropriate methods, tools, materials, equipment, and supplies needed to complete work assignment.
• Completes assigned work orders within established timeframes and in compliance with OSHA safety rules and regulations.
• Uses and maintains hand-held and power tools and other specialized equipment in an efficient and safe manner.
Informs management if equipment should be repaired or replaced.
• Communicates status of work orders to appropriate staff and follows-through on assignments.
Responds to work order needs of students, faculty, and staff in order to repair and/or resolve maintenance problems as they arise.
• Performs routine maintenance inspections of facilities for deficiencies, health and safety hazards, and/or code violations.
Follows established checks to prevent building malfunctions, breakdowns, and general depreciation.
• Maintains clean job sites throughout duration and cleans up job sites following work completion.
Maintains safe working conditions for self and others at all times.
• Prepares reports and/or maintenance records, as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• Valid California Driver License and reliable vehicle is required.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems is required.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills needed.
• Individual must have a working knowledge of most trade tools (i.
e.
, standard powered and non-powered tools) and a general knowledge of standard safety practices and equipment.
• Must be able to use computerized systems to enter, store, retrieve, and generate data for work orders and preventative maintenance records.
• Individual must be able to effectively communicate and understand instructions both verbally and in writing from management, outside vendors/contractors, and other College personnel.
• Trade school certificate or equivalent work experience in facilities and/or maintenance work is highly preferred.
• Individual must be able to work effectively under pressure and against strict time constraints.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multi-task is necessary.
• Ability to be creative and seek proactive solutions to problems and situations with little to no supervision.

Compensation Type: Annual Salary
Salary Range: 43,390.
00 - 51,567.
