*Title*: Project/Cost Manager - System Construction & Space (100 % On – Site) *Location :* Los Angeles, CA 90033 *Duration of Assignment:* Full Time *Description*: The *Project/Cost Manager* *oversees cost control procedures*, *policies and processes for all construction projects.
* Develops, manages, and/or executes all phases of the project controls effort for *projects in Health System Design & Construction project portfolio* including *large and complex renovation and construction projects*.
*Responsible for cost and budget management, change control monitoring, document control and progress reporting*.
Responsible for *partnering with Construction/Project Managers* in regard to specific project scope, schedule and cost issues; proactively identifies, communicates and resolves cost variances in scope and pricing; *establishes a procedural framework* for preparing, reporting and reconciling cost variances, including developing and/or enhancing reporting procedures and tools.
This incumbent utilizes widely *diversified knowledge of project controls activities* and draws upon *extensive experience and exposure to various types of projects and clients*.
*Cost Control Oversight:* - Maintain and oversee *cost control procedures*, policies, processes, and financial documents throughout projects.
- Prepare cost reports, budgets, and cash flow *forecasts *in collaboration *with Project Managers*.
- *Analyze* change order requests, review and provide approval to invoices, and communicate any resulting cost variance affecting the budget to the Project Team & Management.
*- Review and validate* completeness of *documentation* for Capital Project Budget Request Approval.
*Collaboration with Accounting and Capital Planning:* - Work with System accounting and capital planning director/leadership to facilitate updating projections, capital budget planning, and CIP management.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of processes and procedures, leveraging available project management systems and tools.
- Prepare budget modification requests and lead project financial close-outs.
*Project Management and Oversight:* - *Lead clinical operations projects* from beginning to end to enhance business performance.
- Ensure that project cost control operates according to System’s standards and expectations.
- *Coordinate cost* recording, monitoring, and reporting practices for compliance with applicable standards, accuracy, and consistency.
- *Audit project reports and data* to ensure the quality of cost information is accurately reported.
*Reporting and Analytics:* - *Review Project data to keep project managers informed* of any issues and provide regular briefings on project financials, including variance analysis and monthly cost reports.
- *Maintain adequate records* and build project history as a reference for feedback and recommendations to Project Team members.
- Participate in reviewing contractor pay applications to ensure accuracy and consistency.
*Collaboration and Risk Management: * - *Collaborate* with Project Managers and System entity departments *to assist with Construction Audits* and *manage financial risks* on the Projects.
- Develop and produce project/program control, status, and summary reports for Health System entities, service lines, and other clients.
*Analytics and Performance Evaluation:* - *Analyze project* spending *to improve cashflow* *projections* and *construction project lifecycle management.
* - *Develop analytics* to report on vendor performance, change orders, exceptions, project overruns, and other targeted areas with Design & Construction and System leadership.
*Stakeholder Relations*: - Demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain effective relations with diverse groups such as construction managers, administrative and operations leadership, clinical staff members, executives, University partners, and vendors on a variety of issues and administrative tasks.
*Communication Skills: * - Skillfully communicate complex problems and proposals clearly in both formal and informal settings.
*Other Duties:* - Perform other duties as assigned.
*Must Haves: * To be successful in this department, we seek candidates of a higher caliber, and effective communication is paramount during the candidate evaluation process.
Experience in healthcare environments (hospital or clinics) *Educational Background: * - Bachelor's degree in financial or business administration, construction management, or a related field is a prerequisite.
*Experience in Construction Management or Financial Administration:* - A *minimum of 7 years in construction management or financial administration* with increasing leadership/management responsibility is required.
*Reporting Skills:* - Demonstrated ability to design summary status and cost reports.
*Proficiency in Construction Project Management Software* - Advanced experience with construction project management software such as (Procore/Honest Building or eBuilder) is essential.
*Clear and Effective Communication:* - The ability to communicate clearly and effectively is a key requirement for this role.
