Requirements:
-Experience teaching CARDIO dance, either zumba or cardio dance
-Energetic and motivating
-LOVES Beyonce and watching music videos/concert footage to top artists.
The moves will be based on music/video concert footage so interest in learning these is a plus.
-Reliable
-Ability to understand founder’s vision and easily receptive to feedback, creative
VISION:
As a fitness instructor and someone who has always relied on movement for my mental success, I’ve been creating weekly Banish MOVEment events for the community.
These events incorporate community, sharing, chanting, and movement to the best music! Think of Tony Robbins seminar+hip hop club+aerobics class.
We’re in a mental health crisis, why not combine fun hip hop club vibes+community+motivation+exercise!
I am planning to host these classes every Sunday AM (12pm) in Burbank.
The structure of the class would be:
-Intro to my story
-All participants would wear name tags and share in a circle 1.
Their name 2.
Win for the week 3.
What they want to BANISH
-Chant to our Mantra (to songs, to moves, call and response, we can be creative):
“I CAN/ I WILL/I GOT THIS/I CAN DO THIS/IM BRAVE/A WARRIOR/IM CONFIDENT IN MY SKIN “
-Dance to top hits and themes (we will start off theming it to Beyonce but if it does well we will have themes for our classes, IE Taylor Swift, Drake, 2000s hip hop, etc).
-Dance sections that emphasize COMMUNITY (strutting in 3 lines, circling around, soul train), etc.
In between doing the dance with you, I will be running around the room shouting motivational quotes, shouting what we want to Banish, taking photos/videos and bringing the energy up! You will be doing the dancing while I move around.
The moves should be choreographed in a way where anyone without dance experience can follow along without verbal cues.
There will be no verbal instructions, just following along.
We will be trying this format out for a couple of months and seeing where it goes from there.
I am thinking of promoting it as a FREE CLASS on classpass or other platforms and see what the feedback is.
