Proper Hotel is seeking a General Manager at Cara Cara, our rooftop restaurant & bar partnered with Suzanne Goin and Caroline Styne, two of L.
A.
’s most accomplished restaurant owners and the James Beard Award-winning duo behind AOC, Lucques, Tavern and The Larder.
Our historic 148-room reimagined luxury property with two restaurants, event venues and a spectacular rooftop bar is the newest exciting addition to the Proper portfolio.
Our ideal candidate will be responsible for fostering and developing an exciting, positive, results-based environment for the restaurant.
Must possess strong personal organization, genuine hospitality, and care for staff.
Understanding and implementing contemporary luxury/lifestyle standards is equally as crucial.
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for creating and maintaining a positive working culture for all team members
Liaising with and support the goals of the culinary management team
Maintain the quality and consistency of the guest experience
Responsible for Food and Beverage financial performance including annual budgeting and operating plans, covers/revenue goals, and achieving budgeted expense targets
Seeks new opportunities and devises strategies for the improvement of the F&B operations
Oversees operations in compliance with legal and regulatory agency requirements
Actively interact with guests and staff during operations
Completing daily, weekly, and monthly management administrative duties including operations reports, financial documentation, guest correspondence, human resources / staff management paperwork, operations evaluations, standard operating procedures, safety and sanitations checklists, ordering and inventory documentation, and PR/marketing tasks
Skills/Knowledge Required
Strong written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
Proactive attitude with strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to motivate and inspire others to work cooperatively to achieve a designated goal
Flexible schedule; willing and able to work shift duties that may include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
Strong problem solving skills
ServSafe and TIPS Required
Qualifications
Education: High school graduate or equivalent education preferred
Experience: Over 5 years of hospitality/restaurant management experience
