We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our team and oversee our procurement processes.
As a Purchasing Agent, you will be responsible for procuring supplies, equipment, and services necessary for our company to conduct its business operations efficiently.
You will play a critical role in ensuring that we acquire the best quality goods and services at the most competitive prices while adhering to relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Review requisition requests, prepare purchase orders, and solicit bids for goods and services.
Negotiate and administer contracts with suppliers and vendors.
Analyze financial reports, price proposals, and other data to determine reasonable prices for goods and services.
Balance cost and quality to procure the best value for the company.
Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies regarding purchasing.
Coordinate the preparation, review, tracking, and expedition of purchase orders.
Prepare and sign purchase orders for goods and services.
Process purchase orders and other purchasing documents and enter information into purchasing systems.
Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services and handle returns of incorrect products.
Monitor vendor performance and maintain purchasing records and files.
Provide technical assistance to purchasing staff and vendors regarding purchasing regulations, policies, and processes.
Assist in the development and revision of purchasing-related policies, procedures, and systems.
Review, create, and evaluate purchase requisitions for supplies and services, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
Maintain inventory stock and records and determine appropriate stock levels.
Track purchase orders, work with vendors on issues, and ensure product quality.
Provide technical assistance on procurement processes and maintain detailed records and reports Performs work under direct supervision.
Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
Diligent, Punctual and Ready to work! Perform other duties as needed in support of business objectives assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS TECHNICAL SKILLS & ABILITIES Proven experience in procurement or a similar role.
Strong negotiation skills and ability to analyze financial data.
Knowledge of purchasing regulations, policies, and procedures.
Proficiency in MS Office and purchasing software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES Demonstrates basic knowledge of cannabis industry regulations to minimize compliance-related risks.
Demonstrates basic knowledge of wage & hour laws, workplace safety regulations, & anti-discrimination/harassment laws to mitigate legal risks & penalties associated with non-compliance.
Adheres to company policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the team's operations.
Adheres to established procedures for data input and timeliness into designated systems/databases to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
Delivers clear communication that resonates with the audience to inspire change.
Demonstrates ability to reflect on past & present successes & failures to identify areas for improvement and contribute towards improved outcomes & lofty expectations.

REQUIREMENTS Must be at least 21 years of age.
