I’m moving to LA to start law school at UCLA and I’m looking for a dog-friendly place to rent starting around August 1st.
About me: I’m from the Bay Area and graduated from UC Berkeley in 2022.
Since then I've been working as a tutor in Alameda County juvenile hall and a freelance photographer.
My hobbies include Brazilian jiu jitsu/mixed martial arts, photography, hiking, origami, and guitar.
In my free time I like to do my hobbies, eat tacos, and get outside with my dog and explore.
I'm stoked to move to LA soon!
Ideally, I’d like to move into a place that’s relatively close (<30 minute commute) to UCLA.
My preferred neighborhoods are Westwood, Sawtelle, Palms, and Culver City.
My budget is around $1,700/mo depending on location and amenities.
I’m looking for chill roommates that I can kick it with and potentially share similar interests.
I’m open to living with people of all genders, and I’ve lived with femme-identifying people before.
I’m happy to send references if needed.
About my dog: Rigby is a 2 year old, 80 lb mutt.
I think he’s a Rhodesian ridgeback/pitbull mix but he’s white lab/GSD mixed passing if there are breed restrictions.
For the past couple years I’ve volunteered helping socialize big dogs at the local animal shelter.
So when I decided to foster and eventually adopt Rigby, I already knew he was a good boy because I'd worked with him in the shelter context.
Rigby hangs out at home and naps when I’m at work.
He doesn’t show any anxious behavior when I’m gone.
He might steal food off the counter if nobody’s looking, but I feel like that’s pretty normal dog stuff.
I walk Rigby twice a day and take him to the dog park often.
He’s great with other dogs, cats, and kids.
I currently live with 4 roommates and a cat and we all get along.
Even though Rigby’s still young, he’s well behaved and I’ve put a lot of time into training him.
He knows sit, shake, down, speak, spin, bang (play dead), and his recall is on point.
He doesn’t bark much but when he does it’s generally warranted (e.
g.
he’ll bark at an unfamiliar person at the door late at night).
