I am looking for a temporary living situation whilst I wait for my housing application for Skid Row Housing to be processed.
Shelters are full.
It is very difficult to get anything done in a timely manner as someone experiencing homelessness and so therefore I would like to rent somewhere safe where I can live normally again.
I lost my long-time apartment in mid-August (2023) due to a fraudulent eviction that bypassed Covid Renters' Protections.
I have no criminal record but poor credit due to being a victim of Identity Theft/Fraud.
I am not a sex offender.
I do not participate in any illegal or criminal activities.
Currently my only source of income is General Relief at $221 monthly and CalFresh at $291 monthly.
At the moment, I have $200 available to be put towards rent.
I do not smoke, drink, or do drugs.
I only have prescription medications, of which are covered completely by my Medi-Cal and taken only as prescribed.
I am in the application process for SSDI but also searching for employment.
I intend to begin my Associates Degree at LACC in the fall.
I am male, age 32, straight, Christian, white/Caucasian, first moved to Los Angeles in 2008 at age 16 by myself to pursue acting.
I plan to go to a gym several times each week, and I would really appreciate if you'd be okay with me using your kitchen/cookware/dishes to meal-prep high-protein health food if possible, but that's not necessarily a deal-breaker, just a preference.
Please email me if you have a space/situation that could help me whilst I wait on permanent housing.
Thank you!
