We hope you’ll decide to join us! About the Opportunity We are seeking a highly motivated, self-driven, organized, detail oriented and analytical individual to join our Corporate Accounting Team.
The opportunity encompasses numerous corporate accounting areas including, but not limited to: month and quarter end accounting close for cash, debt, fixed assets, corporate general & administrative (G&A) expenses, including budgeting and forecasting, corporate aircraft, preparation and analysis of corporate accounting areas for SEC reporting and compliance and other corporate accounting responsibilities.
This position reports to the Manager, Corporate Accounting.
Opportunity Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting 3+ years relevant accounting experience Articulate communicator who thrives in a collaborative environment, effectively communicates both verbally and in writing, and proactively makes recommendations on process improvements for better efficiency and accuracy Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, strong work ethic, excellent judgment, strong ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Strong team building and interpersonal skills, team player, impeccable integrity, and excellent reputation Excellent data analysis skills utilizing Excel, including pivot tables, vlookups, and SumIf formulas The following qualifications are considered a plus: Real estate experience Public accounting experience Licensed CPA or CPA candidate Experience with Yardi Voyager Experience with Blackline Summary of Responsibilities The core responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Cash Accounting Review & analyze monthly bank reconciliations and cash related journal entries Prepare quarterly AP cut-off entries and coordinate with revenue team to prepare quarterly AR cut-off entries Lead the implementation of transaction matching functionality for Blackline reconciliations Debt Accounting Review & analyze monthly debt schedule and interest trend analysis Review debt related journal entries, including payments, accruals, amortization, etc.
Review monthly debt reconciliations between the general ledger, 3rd party statements, and amortization schedules Prepare debt fair value calculations to be presented to executive management Work collaboratively with the treasury team and financial reporting team to evaluate and record new debt transactions General & Administrative Expenses Prepare monthly accruals for professional services costs and other G&A accounts Review various monthly department allocations Prepare monthly & quarterly G&A variance analyses Assist with the implementation of quarterly reporting to department heads Assist in preparing the annual budget and quarterly reforecast to be presented to the Chief Accounting Officer & Chief Administrative Officer Assist with the preparation and tracking of IT & company-wide marketing budgets Corporate Aircraft Assist with monthly flight classification based on support documentation Prepare monthly aircraft accruals Prepare quarterly time share agreement invoices to executives Assist in maintaining the time share agreement deposit roll forward schedule Will involve coordination with the office off the CEO and other senior executives SEC Reporting & Compliance Perform Section 404 testing and coordinate audit requests Preparation of required quarterly disclosures to be provided to the external financial reporting team for the 10Q/K and Supplemental Financial Report, including balance sheet flux analyses, debt fair value analysis and other recaps from the general ledger Fixed Asset Accounting Review monthly additions into the fixed asset subledger for corporate-related assets Review monthly depreciation variance analyses for corporate-related assets Review monthly reconciliation of the GL to the fixed assets subledger General Requirements Special projects and other duties as needed Ensure any analysis / work product is accurate, thorough and neat Timely & effectively communicate status of assigned tasks and special projects to manager Effectively work and communicate with other members of the Company to ensure established deadlines are being met in an efficient manner What we offer At Kilroy, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.
This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within the role.
The base pay range for this role is between $77,000 and $137,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, experience and training, knowledge, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
This role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus as well.
