We are seeking a Sr.
Accountant.
Working Location: Los Angeles, CA 90025 Salary Range: 70K - 95K per yr.
+ full benefit Client: Japanese real estate investment firm General Position Summary This position is responsible for managing accounting and tax tasks including, but not limited to, daily accounting operations, including bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivables, monthly and year-end closing and reporting, audit preparation, and other related duties as assigned.
The Senior Accountant will work and communicate with various outside counterparties, such as investment counterparties, financial auditors, tax advisors, tax authorities, and the parent company in Japan, as necessary.
Essential Job Functions Accounts Payable and Receivable Verify payment requests and cash transfer requests and post all bills and payment entries or journal entries.
Prepare payments by wire transfer, ACH, print checks, or intra-bank transfer, and proceed for approval.
Coordinate all bank account-related matters as a point of contact.
Verify and process cash receipts and post journal entries Perform bank reconciliation Record and reconcile financial transactions.
Reconcile all transactions by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balance.
Stop/Void payments as necessary and handle rejection alerts from the banks.
Check and verify employee experience reimbursement requests, post bill entries on the accounting system, and create ACH payments.
Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
Maintain historical records.
Accounting and Finance Summarize in assisting each monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing, as well as all consolidated financial statements.
Review and analyze Joint Venture(“JV”) financial statements for company properties being assigned, make inquiries, and request adjustments by collaborating with the Asset Management department and JV accounting team.
Analyze accounting information and options by summarizing in the spreadsheet reports and verifying information.
Answer all accounting and financial inquiries from internal/outside parties by researching and interpreting data.
Creating the reports including STRAVIS submitting to the headquarters in Japan as well as their related parties.
Collect detailed accounting data and support finalizing the company or each department's budget process.
Assist in the preparation and coordination of external audits and tax audits.
Accomplish accounting and organizational mission by completing related projects as needed.
Collaborate with cross-functional internal departments and outside parties for accurate financial reporting, tax compliance, and cash flow.
Stay up to date with changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsible for maintaining all accounting files and procedures (A/P, A/R, billing, general ledger entries, bank reconciliation, credit card expense report reconciliation, cash applications, collections, and payroll.
) Responsible for Company fixed-asset management pertaining to inventories in the book.
Maintaining the database on the Kintone approval system and Accounting system (Sage 50).
Understand current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements.
Research, select, and review accounting principal applications for existing and new projects.
Coordinate and solve accounting issues with outside parties such as auditors and partners.
Monitor and project daily cash flow for the company operation and make necessary coordination with the headquarters.
Support senior members of the Finance and Accounting team for their daily projects and activities.
Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as required.
Take care of other administrative tasks as requested by senior members of the team and other departments.
Respond to questions/requests from the headquarters as needed.
Tax and Reports Responsible for the tax information, such as Form K-1 in receiving, filing, and forwarding from JV partners.
Prepare reports for the authorities for miscellaneous taxes, such as Form 1099, 1042, property tax, and business tax, by coordinating with outside vendors.
Support necessary corporate tax coordination, such as estimated tax, extension, and provision, with outside tax return preparer.
Comply with all federal, state, and local protocols including legal requirements, and interpret new and existing legislation.
Monitor tax filing status and make necessary coordination with tax authorities.
Research, select, and review corporate tax applications for existing and new projects.
Coordinate and solve tax issues with outside parties including auditors and partners.
Assist acquisition activities in offering a simulation of the corporate tax as necessary.
Other Expectations Monitor and project daily cash flow for the company operation and make necessary coordination with performing assignments and tasks under only general supervision.

Qualifications Education A minimum of a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance or a related field from a four-year college or university.
Work Experience At least seven (7) years of experience in accounting and/or finance in the financial or/and real estate industry is preferred.
Minimum three (3) years of experience with Corporate/HQ level of Accounting is a must.
Skills Strong understanding of U.
S.
GAAP, financial reporting, and complex accounting matters.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Proficiency with accounting/financial software and experience with system implementation is a plus.
Thorough understanding of internal control design and practice.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization.
Thorough knowledge of U.
S.
and International taxation.
Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
Bilingual Japanese/English or minimum proficiency (Read/Write/Speak) in Japanese is plus.
Certificates / Licenses CPA certification is highly beneficial but not required.
