Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Property Managers duties may include leasing, maintaining, and overseeing the community and collection of payments from tenants.
Qualifications (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience)
Leases, markets, and builds tenant relationships in the building
Oversees prospect application completion and secures deposit in accordance with company procedures and Fair Housing requirements
Approves submitted applications based on candidate qualifications
Updates reports and processes applications for approval (credit and reference checks)
Ensures compliance with Apartment Association lease and contracted credit report application
Identifies building maintenance needs and ensures completion for timely move-in
Interacts with residents to retain, resolve, and satisfy tenant needs
Negotiates and records lease transactions
Monitors and communicates lease renewal information in a timely manner
Ensures safety of tenants and employees on the property based on company, local, state, and federal guidelines
Plans resident functions to encourage highly engaged and active community
Thrive in a busy environment, be highly organized, and goal-oriented
Results-driven and customer-focused
Ability to accurately read and respond to non-verbal communication
Outstanding leadership skills to include critical thinking, decision making, and listening
Employs influence, relationship building, composure, and open communication tactics to build trust with internal and external customers
Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels (written/verbal) and with customers
National Apartment Leasing Professional (NALP) preferred
Fair Housing Certification, willingness to obtain prior to interacting with prospective residents
OSHA laws and regulations, willingness to obtain within six months
1 year of experience in Assistant Property Management position and 1 year in a customer service-related industry required
Bi-lingual - English and Spanish is a required

Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
This is an hourly position.
The successful candidate will work a traditional workday (Monday through Friday 8-5 with one hour for lunch) but may be asked to work more, and be on-call, based on business needs.
