Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, a global Am Law 50 firm, is seeking an experienced Real Estate Manager.
We prefer candidates who can work from our Downtown Los Angeles, Century City, Orange County, Downtown San Diego, Del Mar, Silicon Valley, or San Francisco office but will consider candidates who can work from one of our other offices.
The other offices we are considering are Chicago, Dallas, or Houston.

The Real Estate Manager is responsible for effectively managing all aspects of the Firm’s Real Estate Offices and Facilities.
Acting as the primary liaison for the firm to the property managers, this position manages project assignments and workload distribution to ensure exceptional support for both internal and external client support.
Key responsibilities include driving the Firm’s strategic direction, managing office locations, lease interpretation, construction management and review, and sustainability tracking for all locations.
The Real Estate Manager position reports to the Chief Administrative Officer.
Primary Responsibilities, Expectations, and Essential Functions of the Job Key management and administrative responsibilities include: Review all lease agreements, coordinate with the Company’s legal and ops teams, as well as outside brokers, to negotiate and secure sound leases with terms that are advantageous to the Company.
Work directly with brokers to evaluate potential commercial real estate opportunities and communicating with the team and vendors as needed.
Create presentations with light graphic design using templates from the Microsoft Office Suite.
Ensuring company files are organized and up to date.
Respond to specific office needs, ensuring that administrative and building technical staff resolve problems promptly in compliance with policies, procedures, regulations and contractual obligations and standards.
Ensure periodic office inspections and recommend alterations, maintenance and reconditioning as needed.
Contract for and oversee vendor services.
Review rent, expenses, and legal notices per lease requirements Manage/oversee lease renewals and relocations.
Coordinate with building managers with any specific office location needs.
Coordinate with third party sustainability vendor to meet company regulations.
Responsible for organizing and preparing documentation for meetings of the Company’s executive committee.
Continually enhance real estate processes and identify savings when possible.
Review, analyze, and interpret monthly financial and statistical reports to ensure alignment with the financial strategic goals of the Firm.

Communicate effectively, professionally, and timely with clients and all Firm personnel.
Contribute to the overall success of the organization by modeling leadership that influences team members to do their best.

Qualifications and Experience Required Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of corporate real estate experience and oversight of corporate facilities.
Strong knowledge of lease administration.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent administrative and organizational skills with proven ability to produce results and meet deadlines.
Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of professionals, management and staff, demonstrating the ability to elicit cooperation, teamwork and service in a fast-paced environment.
Fundamental knowledge and experience in regard to construction and facilities management.
Ability to identify issues, develop recommendations, and implement solutions.
Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree License and Certification Preferred: Real Estate License Computer/Software Knowledge Required: Proficiency in legal research tools, case management software, and Microsoft Office Suite of Programs.
Work Environment The current Firm policy is hybrid–working in the office a minimum of 3 days per week (subject to change).
After-hours and weekend work will be required on occasion as the workload requires.
Travel Requirements Up to 10%.
Minimal domestic travel is required for meetings, retreats, and conferences (as needed).
