New Years Resolution for JAZZ MUSICIANS and singers (Los Angeles)

Join us for this IMPORTANT work.
Is one of your new years' resolutions to make the world a better place? We perform for people who don't have long to live, who live in loneliness, pain and discomfort, who often don't have anyone left who cares enough to visit and who are deep in the throes of dementia or Alzheimers.
This is an audience that NEEDS us.
It's hard to explain what that means to musicians and singers who have played for seniors in retirement homes, assisted living facilities and organizations that have a lot of elderly members.
It's a whole different world for THESE very elderly people on the last leg of life's journey.
In the nursing homes we perform in there is an air of fear and desperation.
We all know what they fear.
More often than not the patients have Alzheimers or Dementia and some don't even remember who they are.
Yet SOMEHOW when we play music from their past those tunes reach deep into their memories.
That's when magic often happens.
We have had people who don't speak anymore start singing the song we're playing.
Patients who hardly move will start dancing in their wheelchairs.
Mostly we bring huge happiness through the music we play by playing it well.
And, playing the music from their era is a way of honoring this generation, the Greatest Generation.
We know you're busy.
People with your skills are always highly in demand.
We only asking musicians to only donate a little spare time when they happen to have it.
That may mean one afternoon a year.
We can help you turn that afternoon (or a morning?) into some serious karma.
