This rare Yamaha FM Synth sounds huge - basically 2 DX7's.
Has the original DX1/5 Voice and Performance ROMS which are very rare to find these days.
Has had a new battery fitted and new backlight (see new photos recently uploaded).
Comes with custom flightcase.
The DX5 is based on the same 6 Operator digital FM synthesizer engine as the DX7 but with double the voices, double the memory, bi-timbral split/layer modes, and an expanded control interface for an improved editing experience.
Like the rest of the DX line, sounds are created not by traditional analog synthesis, but by frequency modulation synthesis, which employs digital sine wave oscillators modulating each other through various algorithms and envelope controlled amplitude manipulation.
The DX7 is useful for creating full and complex metallic and percussive sounds, great organ and pad sounds, punchy bass sounds, as well as decent acoustic emulations of instruments such as piano, clav, bell, koto, brass, and woodwinds.
