*Job Description* The Licensed Therapist oversees the client’s treatment during the course of their participation in the program.
In conjunction with other disciplines, the Therapist assesses the client and/or family, develops the Mental Health Treatment Plan and actively provides therapeutic interventions to the client and/or family.
Position is open for the following licensed professionals: LMFT LCSW LPCC LEP Psy.
D Psychologist * Report directly to Clinical Supervisor * Ability to interact and communicate both verbally, and in writing, with seriously, emotionally disturbed clients, other staff, physicians, and the public * Provide direct service to clients in the capacity of individual, family and group therapy, utilizing telehealth services * Under supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, assist in performing evaluations and periodic re-evaluations of clients describing the level of psychosocial impairment, physical health problems, self-care potential, support network availability, adequacy of living arrangements, financial status, employment status and potential training or educational needs * Review medical, psychosocial, school and other records * Meet with clients, families, treatment staff, placement staff, consultants and other agency personnel to evaluate needs and services for the client * Aid in the development of the individual Mental Health Treatment Plan and Crisis/Safety Plans as needed; identify and link the needs and strengths of the client, and their families, with the negotiated terms and goals * Intervene, by way of phone or in person, with the client in an emergency crisis to provide support and assistance in problem resolution * Provide interventions for the client and/or family to improve client’s behavioral outcomes as indicated on the Mental Health Treatment Plan * Monitor, support and assist the client in developing or maintaining skills needed to achieve the Mental Health Treatment Plan; to include medical, dental and psychiatric services, guidance in money management, and the use of educational, socialization, rehabilitation and other social services * Identify, assess and mobilize resources to meet the client's needs, including consultation and intervention with social security, welfare, health departments and other community agencies and resources, as necessary * Interact with clients and staff as needed in the coordination of services * Interact on behalf of the client with family, friends, legal guardian(s) and significant others to initiate and maintain supportive networks.
Act as a liaison with the client’s Child and Family Team (CFT) to attend meetings, participate and advocate for the client and family, and ensure action items are followed * Attend trainings as scheduled * Participate in staff development meetings and in quality-of-care activities on a regular basis * Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor * Incorporate and operationalize the goals and objectives of the organization * Comply with HIPPA requirement for privacy and access of records * Display cultural sensitivity to each client/family and individual’s needs and customs, as appropriate *Qualifications and Education Requirements* * Master’s Degree *(Required)* * Minimum 1 year of direct service experience treating emotional disturbed youth *(Required)* * Valid Driver's License *(Required)* * CPR Certification *(Required)* * US work authorization *(Required)* * Current licensing with the state of California for one of more of the following: LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, LEP, Psy.
D or Psychologist *(Required)* *Preferred Skills* * Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community * Demonstrated understanding of psychiatric illness and its treatment * Demonstrated ability to visually and audibly assess the mental status and psychosocial needs of severely, emotionally disturbed clients * Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of community services and county agencies * Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing * Ability to gather, analyze, interpret, summarize and document data using technology for effective clinical decision-making regarding patient evaluation and treatment * Excellent self-management skills and detail-oriented * Proficiency at computer required * Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities * Ability to create, compose and edit written materials Better Days Integrated Programs and its affiliates are an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
