Job Description General Summary The Creative Director is responsible for overseeing the growth of the creative side of the studio and maintaining the highest standards of creative execution.
This position requires business and creative acumen, as well as the ability to lead a team of artists to ensure that they are aligned with Tiltshift’s values, vision, and mission.
Leadership qualities will be critical, as the Creative Director will manage all creative staff and freelance artists within their studio.
They are the creative face of the studio and are responsible for ensuring that everything that goes to clients is of the highest quality.
This role is responsible for driving the business forward by being at the forefront of innovation within the VFX and Realtime space.
This requires an expert level of understanding about software, technology, efficient pipelines/workflows, and premium creative executions.
The Creative Director is also responsible for partnering with cross-functional partners to ensure a consistent creative vision for all projects that are within their purview.
This person will partner closely with the Technical Director and Executive Producer to help elevate creative and scale the VFX and real-time offering for clients.
Responsibilities Concept and apply creative solutions to guide clients and internal teams through all projects.
Creatively lead projects from concept to delivery, reviewing and overseeing all creative teams.
Working with the artist team, developing tools, methodologies and workflows ensuring best practice and delivery of highest quality images as possible At times act as an “on the box” VFX lead if the project requires that.
Optimize the CG and real-time pipeline of the studio.
Work closely with Producers to maintain in-depth understanding of a project's status while taking responsibility and ownership of the workload, time management, as well as notes/feedback required by Supervisors & Producers.
Partners with production and tech leads to ensure a financially healthy, solid production model.
Oversee hiring for all full-time and freelance studio creative employees to ensure that talent is the right fit creatively and culturally.
Develop a deep relationship with agency creative and production leadership.
Be the first escalation path for clients when there is a creative issue with work coming from their studio.
Model the correct approach to the creative process.
The Creative Director should always be reinforcing our responsibility to our clients and our craft.
Our job is to partner with our clients to achieve their vision, and the Creative Director must reinforce this daily.
Actively drive and influence staffers' behavior and actions to ensure that they are aligned with the company’s values, vision, and mission.
Location & Commitments 90% remote, 10% in person for client meetings and teamwork and social activities.
Travel may be required for production needs.
Overtime may be required to deliver on client projects and deadlines.
Qualifications 10+ years' experience in VFX for advertising, as a creative team lead.
3+ years managing a team Hands on experience with CG and real-time technology.
Being able to multitask and run multiple projects and teams.
To ensure that each project is running smoothly and efficiently.
Superior client management skills.
A portfolio with work demonstrating CG work ideally in automotive, food/beverage, packaged goods, or beauty.
Passion and a broad knowledge of the VFX, Design / Motion Graphics industry with an eye for future developments and challenges.
Demonstrated excellent leadership skills across all levels, effective communication and problem solving skills.
Strong creative and technical eye for photo-realistic CG animation and knowledge in all other areas of CG including modelling, texturing, lighting, FX, and rendering.
Project planning assistance that includes scoping and costing.
Ability to remain calm and confident in a fast-paced environment whilst juggling multiple projects.
Ability to work within and inspire a team and under own initiative.
Excellent communication skills at all levels, both on a technical and creative basis.
Strong time management and organization skills.
Experience with staff management including hiring, reviews and providing consistent and constructive feedback.

Compensation Range: $121,000.
00 - $204,500.
00 annually.
This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting.
Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
