Summary:
The Executive Director, Strategic Planning, is responsible for driving completion of the strategic plans for CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center.
The Executive Director will support Department Leadership in strategic planning as well as oversee portfolio, processes and tools.
The Executive Director will also support the development of long-term goals and strategic objectives and identify, analyze, and monitor issues that affect growth, cost and productivity.
Oversees managed care contracting and decision support functions within the Medical Center
Reports to the Medical Center Chief Financial Officer
Key the Medical Center payer strategy and payer negotiations
Supports business planning with data and analysis
Analyzes various payer arrangements (including capitation arrangements)
Negotiates payer arrangements in collaboration with the CFO
Elevates contract issues to payer’s attentions for resolution
Estimates reimbursement for a variety of business purposes
Maintains knowledge of public payer systems and reimbursement
Oversees compilation and submission of data to State and Federal agencies related to reimbursement (QAF, DSH, Medicare Cost Report, State Cost Report, OSHPD Reporting)
Provides information to support budgeted and long-range planning
Oversees compilation, analysis and reporting of organizational data for decision support
Selects data tools for data-mining, data-basing, data analysis, and for data reporting
Directs activities related to staffing managed care and decision support functions including hiring, orienting and evaluating.
With the staff of the functions, leads development of efficient methods for the production and distribution of management reports
Supports efforts, through technology and automation to streamline business process
Requires in-depth knowledge of query tools and languages, reporting and visualization tools as well as familiarity with newly developing tools such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, natural language processing and deep-learning.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree required with minimum 15 years of business experience
Preferred Education:
Master’s Degree

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Must be able to work in a union environment.
Preferred Work Experience and Qualifications:
Solid technical background with hands-on experience in strategic level planning.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team both directly and virtually, including ability to consult widely, bring together diverse views, and facilitate agreement on critical issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills required.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and project management tools and applications required.
Strong financial acumen with experience creating and monitoring as well as optimizing budget performance.
Highly collaborative leader responsible for managing relationships across multiple functional areas, often interfacing with colleagues at all levels.
Demonstrated relationship management skills at peer levels within and organization and external constituents.
Demonstrated experience developing analysis, presentations, and support material to successfully implement strategy or change initiatives.
Experience with strategic planning and understanding the strategic planning and deployment processes.
Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation:
Current Los Angeles County Fire Card required (within 30 days of employment).
