Job Description Block is looking for a Compensation Operations Specialist to join our Compensation Operations team to help support Block’s compensation teams across different business units and our global employee population.
The Compensation Operations team works closely with our HR, Talent, and Total Rewards teams to drive continuous improvement and efficiency across our systems, data solutions and processes.
You will: Act as escalation for people operations in responding and resolving more complex compensation questions and issues from stakeholders (HR, Talent, Mobility, Immigration, Finance, Payroll, Stock Admin, Legal) and Tier 2 employee queries Support creation and documentation of compensation processes and procedures using best practice technology, data management, and operational principles to reduce administrative burdens and improve overall efficiency Partner with SMEs to ensure processes are clearly documented, integrated and accessible, working to identify and resolve inconsistency and repetition Partner with HR systems to ensure shared solutions (e.
g.
Workday) are integrated and configured to meet compensation system and reporting requirements Maintain job and range setup in our HCM (Workday) and compensation tools used by HRBPs, Mobility, and Talent teams Audit job and range data for accuracy and global legal compliance Support market research and analysis to derive insights and recommendations, by overseeing process to gather and submit compensation survey data Create, process, and track annual POs/invoices for vendors used by Compensation team Support for compensation programs (merit/promotion cycles), communication and intranet updates, FAQs, etc.
Qualifications You have: 1+ years of experience in compensation, finance, or other HR analytical role Intermediate Google Sheets or Excel skills with the ability to effectively analyze data and develop or automate repeatable reports, metrics, and models Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team, conduct research, formulate conclusions, and present conclusions regarding business issues Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills to communicate and explain compensation philosophy, program design, and recommendations effectively Excellent prioritization skills; you thrive in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing business needs An interest in growing in the compensation field and desire to learn about compensation concepts, methods, and philosophies Preferred: Familiarity with HCM (Workday a plus) Familiarity with ticketing intake systems (JIRA a plus) Additional Information Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location.
