You will support the programs that directly serve children in their home schools or districts as a part of “Galileo X” program.
You will be the primary manager of the Camp Directors of each of Galileo location, ensuring a supportive, joyful, and professionally fulfilling experience for these education leaders.
Camp Directors work for Galileo for 9 months out of the year on a part time basis, and you will be responsible for hiring, onboarding, training, supporting, and leading this group of talented education professionals.
You will also be their primary manager and support during the camp season, and will be responsible for supporting them through the day-to-day operations of our camp locations.
An ideal candidate will be passionate about and experienced with bringing programming to under-resourced communities and inspired by Galileo’s potential impact.
YOU WILL To manage the Camp Director team, you will: Partner with our People Operations Team to hire, onboard, train, and support our Camp Director team throughout the hiring process and the pre-camp season.
Create and execute joyful team culture events.
Partner with the Field team to plan, execute, and evaluate annual retreats.
Create, deliver, and analyze professional development and ongoing education of the Chicago Camp Director team as well as the National Camp Director team.
Support Camp Directors with their staff on site during the summer months, creating professional development opportunities, giving timely feedback, and ensuring safe, welcoming staff teams that value belonging, joy, and camp innovation & fun.
As needed, will cover the duties of Camp Directors for brief absences.
Manage team traditions, culture, and events that support an inclusive, joyful Galileo community and team To support the growth of Galileo X, you will: Serve as the cross-departmental liaison with marketing, customer service, training, the people operations department, and the supply team to identify customizations to existing operations Collaborate with the Director, Galileo X Programs to define camp program parameters for new sites, including staffing model, daily format, camp traditions, and schedule for each program, with a focus on ensuring Galileo programming meets the need of our district partners and student populations of highest need, (e.
g.
trust building, supporting families with ELL students, conflict resolution) As part of a growth team at Galileo, support the work of the Galileo X team by collaborating on proposal/RFP development and customer lead cultivation In Partnership with the Director, Galileo X Partnerships, determine KPIs for success criteria for Galileo X Programs, systematically evaluate programs, and produce documentation to be shared with our partners to articulate Galileo’s value Assist as needed with facility partnerships and relationship building.

COMPENSATION We anticipate the compensation for this Full-Time, exempt, position to be $75,000 - $85,000 annual salary.
Exact compensation may vary and will be based on multiple factors, including geography and professional experience.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (5+ years of increasing responsibility in similar field) 2+ years experience working with K-8 education in a leadership role; experience working at camps and/or out-of-school time programs a bonus 3+ Experience in multi-site staff management and managing programs or services (preferred) Experience with B2B sales or account management a plus! Experience with Salesforce, Google Analytics, and Microsoft Suite a plus Ability to travel 10-25% to visit territories throughout the year and regularly visit camps during the summer months.
