A corporate FP&A professional who has prior client services experience in Big4 or management consulting, or otherwise has served as the strategic business partner to the C-level suit of their organization.
About the position: Palm Tree’s Strategic Finance group provides FP&A, financial modeling, performance improvement, and other Office of the CFO initiatives to our clients’ portfolio companies.
As part of our growth, this is an add-to-staff management position.
Responsibilities & Duties: General management of strategic engagements, providing management, direction, and assignment of tasks to colleagues, and leading communication with clients throughout the process Design and develop work streams, often involving complex quantitative analysis and detailed financial models at various granularity levels, to drive operational insights and improvements Provide final quality control of client deliverables (including Reporting Packages, models, KPI reports, etc) that highlight key financial, commercial, and other trends in the business Review and finalize analysis on financial and operational data, KPIs, cashflow, net working capital, debt items Manage Q&A/investigation process on key areas of the Income Statement, Balance Sheet and other reports, leading to operational insights and improvement opportunities Lead “gap analysis” financial reviews, identifying recommended changes to current financial operations to best practices and more efficient methods of financial processes Manage implementation of best practices for Financial Operations Assist junior team members with analysis of financials and bridge to operations challenges/changes Guide clients as to how to incorporate our reports, processes, and other deliverables into the client’s ongoing business operations Lead meetings and conference calls in financial and business discovery, as well as change management activities Perform detailed analyses and synthesize actionable insights from data sets and unstructured information sources Consult with clients on changes to team structure, business processes or information needs Effectively and efficiently communicate with senior team members in status updates of engagements Begin to participate in developing new client relationships and other business development functions Be actively involved in building and maintaining client relationships and other business development opportunities Qualifications & Requirements: Vice President candidates should have an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related fields; postgraduate degrees, including MAC or MBA, are preferred but not required.
Ideal Vice President candidates should have 7-10+ years of relevant professional experience in financial consulting, FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, restructuring, or other corporate operation improvement roles.
Vice President candidates should have experience managing multiple team members across different engagements in their prior work experience.

In addition to demonstrating a strong work ethic and a capability to lead teams and manage multiple engagements, candidates should have sound technical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Compensation: The base salary for this position ranges from $150k-$175k with a top-of-industry bonus.
