Overview As the VP of Data Technology and Reporting, you'll play a pivotal role within our leadership team, shaping and advancing our business intelligence capabilities.
Your responsibilities include overseeing the creation, deployment, and enhancement of reporting and analytics solutions, empowering our stakeholders to drive data-informed decisions.
The ideal candidate will be collaborative in leveraging data, technology, and insights to unlock business value.
They'll excel in engaging diverse stakeholders, possess robust project management skills, and communicate complex concepts effectively.
To thrive in this role, a minimum of 8+ years in a business intelligence capacity is essential.
A related degree (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology) or equivalent experience is required, coupled with a profound grasp of business intelligence tools and technologies.
Proficiency in data modeling and data warehousing would be a significant advantage.
Responsibilities Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive data and reporting strategy in alignment with Oaktree's long-term vision.
Establish a culture of data-driven decision-making through robust data governance practices.
Oversee the integration of cutting-edge data and analytics technologies, collaborating with leaders to assess the ROI of data investments and explore new data science opportunities.
Collaborate with Oaktree's business stakeholders to scale data and reporting needs, emphasizing user experience innovations, and exploring AI/ML advancements.
Manage projects from conceptualization to execution, overseeing special requests while meticulously documenting processes.
Actively contribute to the development of Oaktree's Business Reporting team, overseeing intake, report creation, enhancements, and the organization of the reporting library using the PowerBI suite.
Develop and communicate a comprehensive business intelligence and data strategy aligned with the company's objectives and collaborate with senior executives to integrate data-driven insights into decision-making processes.
Ensure precise and valuable reporting by collaborating closely with business unit leaders.
Support data governance and prioritize data platform enhancements to meet evolving reporting needs.
Partner with enterprise data and Senior Leaders to reinforce data governance practices, ensuring optimized value creation from Oaktree's data.
Utilize data visualization tools (e.
g.
, PowerBI, Excel) to create impactful visuals aiding Senior Management in business decisions.
Drive report automation to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications Proven track record of leadership and expertise in data technology, business intelligence, and reporting roles.
A minimum of 8+ years of experience in a business intelligence capacity, with a related degree (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology), or equivalent experience.
Profound understanding of business intelligence tools and technologies, including data modeling and data warehousing.
Expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning, and predictive modeling.
Proficiency in Python, data visualization tools, and SQL.
Advanced knowledge of database architectures, data modeling, and APIs.
Familiarity with AWS services (EMR, EC2, Athena, S3, Redshift - a plus).
Experience in SQL data lakes and enterprise data warehousing.
Project management using Scrum; knowing and utilizing Agile methods to manage projects.
Advanced experience in setting up and maintaining data pipelines in Microsoft Fabric.
Experienced in developing PowerBI reports and dashboards from multiple data sources using Data Blending.
Fluent experience with Power Query in PowerBI.
Experience with AWS services and cloud-based Data Science tools like Jupyter.
Experience with Agile software development processes and CI/CD code deployment methodologies is needed.

Education A degree is required with a major in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or another related field.
CFA/FRM candidates will be viewed favorably, as will anyone who demonstrates interest.
Base Salary Range $175,000 - $200,000 In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives, a comprehensive benefits package and a flexible work arrangement.
The base salary offered will be commensurate with experience and/or qualifications, industry knowledge and expertise, as well as prior training and education.
