Margaret’s Center is a community center of Catholic Charities of Los Angeles in the Inglewood area of Los Angeles.
The Center provides a comprehensive range of services for low-income and unhoused populations, including food programs, services for individuals experiencing homelessness, education programs, health and wellness services and social support programs.
An average of 10,000 participants receive approximately 50,000 services each year.
CRC II’s role is to serve low income and unhoused households through intake, advocacy, and guidance.
Assesses clients' needs and provides assistance or referrals.
Coordinates delivery of services to clients in need of emergency food, shelter, rental assistance, transportation, medical, and special needs.
Serves as advocate with government agencies to obtain public assistance.
Participates in outreach programs; represents Program/Region at community meetings.
Helps prepare necessary reports, requisitions, and statistics.
May also help supervise volunteers.
Responsibilities: Coordinates delivery of services by making referrals including referrals for financial assistance to clients in need of emergency food, shelter, clothing, rental assistance, transportation, medical, and special needs.
Serves as advocate with government agencies to obtain public assistance.
Participates in outreach programs; represents program/region at community meetings.
Helps prepare necessary reports, requisitions and statistics.
Provides regular evaluation of client programs to ensure satisfactory progress.
Help supervise volunteers and interns providing client services.
Provides reception duties including scheduling appointments, screening for services, and providing information and referrals.
Processes client intakes over the phone and in office.
Performs light case management duties as assigned.
Promotes continuous quality improvement and service delivery that is aligned with the Agency’s mission.
Displays sensitivity to the client population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
Performs related duties as required Qualifications: Must be bilingual (English/Spanish) Bachelor’s degree preferred; completion of two years of college or one to three years of related experience required.
Must exemplify empathy and compassion when working with low income populations, especially unhoused individuals.
Counseling and assessment techniques.
Principles and practices of organization and administration Catholic Charities’ policies, procedures and organization.
Plan short- and long- range activities.
Handle public contact and relations effectively.
Maintain accurate and orderly records.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships.
Analyze and resolve problems.

Display sensitivity, tact, and responsiveness in various situations and needs.
Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
