HR GENERALIST JOB SUMMARY
The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with director of human resources in supporting designated all sites and administration.
This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, affirmative action and employment law compliance.
HR GENERALIST ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prepares separation Notices on assigned employees and submits to supervisor for review, signature and processing.
Appropriately documents personnel actions in appropriate records systems.
Properly files all paperwork.
Closes files on assigned employees and enters resignation/termination data into the HRIS system.
Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
Assist in the compensation program; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
Performs routing tasks required to administer and execute human resources programs including but not limited to, compensation, benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees, leave of absence, occupational health and safety; training and development.
Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
Assist in employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals.
Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Orients new employees to company benefits, policies and protocols and educates existing employees as needed Participates in employee satisfaction surveys and initiates employee satisfaction and retention programs as needed.
Manage and coordinates all HR related audits.
Accurately calculates all leave taken and accrued in accordance with Fair Labor Standards act.
Properly initiates personnel actions for employees on leave without pay.
Accurately answers employee’s questions and properly advises them on the correct use of leave.
Promptly resolves leave-related issues.
Properly responds to all inquiries and requests for information in a courteous and timely manner.
Willingness to travel in and out of State for business related projects.
Performs other related tasks assigned by Director of Human Resources.

HR GENERALIST EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or five to 10 years of HR experience PHR/SPHR preferred but not required HR Management Certification preferred but not required HR GENERALIST KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to find solutions when barriers are identified.
Strong documentation skills.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize when needed.
Ability to independently seek out resources and work collaboratively.
Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Experience and work ethics that supports working within a high functioning, team-oriented environment.
Demonstrates a willingness and ability to work under supervision.
Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with staff.
Ability to use computer and learn new software programs.
Excellent interpersonal skills reflecting clarity and diplomacy and the ability to communicate accurately and effectively with all levels of staff and management.
Demonstrates ability to work in a regulatory climate that includes oversight of state and federal entities, payer contracts etc.
Possesses ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
Able to travel and attend professional meetings, conferences, trainings and clinic sites.
Demonstrate flexibility, enthusiasm, and willingness to cooperate while working with others in multi-disciplinary teams.
Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations Proficiency in HRIS Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Knowledge of compensation and benefits administration Performs other related duties as assigned.
