KPMG is currently seeking an Associate Director, Security Monitoring and Response to join our Enterprise Security Services organization.
This is a remote work opportunity.
Responsibilities: Lead, expand and manage the monitoring for threats and vulnerabilities and respond; incorporate learnings into additional preventive and detective controls as a continuous feedback loop; focus is blended between execution and tactical planning and participation in strategic planning; contribute to tactical plans and monitor progress Take responsibility for helping drive technical outcomes and managing a team of junior and intermediate employees that perform within set technical guidelines and standard operating procedures; set goals, offer feedback, source developmental opportunities, and provide long-term career guidance to counselees and others across the department Manage the development of process improvement; measure the effectiveness of related processes through metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and drive actionable improvements Use advanced technical expertise to execute work product, tactical and strategic planning; lead efforts to define and document additional components of the overall vulnerability and configuration management program in line with industry best practices Interact regularly with management within the department and staff across all member firms; influence member firm expectations and provide appropriate alternatives, suggestions, and recommendations for improvements; ensure goals and objectives are met Research and develop vulnerability mitigation strategies, in accordance with industry best practices, which can be immediately implemented by the appropriate technical teams; provide ongoing subject matter expert support for all remediation/mitigation processes; manage vulnerability scanning platform, including platform performance, agent health, and platform governance Qualifications: Minimum eight years of recent experience leading and managing IT security resources and/or projects Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred Experience in security monitoring, security operations, and incident response activities, preferably within a professional services firm or similar environment Experience in the following: identification and risk assessment of system, network, and application vulnerabilities; validating vulnerability scanning results and false positives; performing vulnerability assessments using Qualys or other similar vulnerability assessment tools Ability to manage change and effectively communicate to teams; advanced knowledge of the broader scope that frames the essential technical area of work and able to use this knowledge to create incremental value Excellent verbal/written communication, collaboration, analytical and presentation skills to lead an environment driven by customer service and teamwork; must be able to set goals and participate in strategic initiatives for a team; capability to foster the development of high performance teams and interface with all levels of the organization; ability to participate in development of resource plans and structures and influence organizational priorities KPMG complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying salary ranges.
