Position Overview The Recruiter will serve as the anchor between our team leaders and our mission.
This position will work collaboratively with our hiring managers (HMs) to gain a deep understanding of our staffing requirements, assessing candidates, and guaranteeing that we attract individuals who will uplift our Para Los Niño’s core values, goals, and mission.
As a critical thinker, the Recruiter will play a vital role in ensuring a fair and inclusive recruitment process, thus enabling us to maintain a diverse and equitable workforce.
The responsibilities encompass managing recruitment efforts across a broad spectrum of roles, including K-12 instructional, instructional support, head start, early head start, educational and content specialist positions at various levels of the organization.
Duties • Hiring Needs Assessment: Partners with HMs to comprehensively understand their staffing needs, long-term objectives, desired candidate profiles, and modify job descriptions and competencies as needed to align to these goals.
• Pipeline Development: Collaborates with the Talent Acquisition Outreach Coordinator to proactively create talent pipelines for skilled candidates, including those from BIPOC, LGBTQ, and other identities.
Conducts sourcing activities to identify highly qualified candidates to fill open roles and identify talent for future openings.
• Candidate Assessment: Reviews resumes and performs phone screens to evaluate candidate qualifications, and culture fit.
Creates interview guides and assessment tools with an emphasis on competency-based interviewing techniques.
Leads post-interview sessions with interview panels to guarantee consistent and equitable assessment of candidates based on competencies and qualifications.
• Interview Training: Delivers training sessions to empower hiring managers with the knowledge and tools needed to conduct interviews and provide feedback in a fair and equitable manner, ensuring a welcome and safe experience for all candidates.
• Job Offer Facilitation: Partners with the HR team to construct equitable job offers in line with industry standards and PLN’s internal compensation structures.
• Data Driven-Approach: Utilizes data to track recruitment success, identifies areas for process improvement, and drives data-informed decision-making within the recruitment process.
Uses Service Level Agreements to benchmark progress.
• Candidate Experience: Contribute to a positive candidate experience through effective communication and exceptional customer service.
Other Responsibilities • Collaborates with the Talent Acquisition Specialist on meeting DEIB recruitment goals and attends in-person and virtual career fairs.
• Partners with the HR Operations team on projects as needed.
• Provides Dayforce support and auditing for the recruiting and job assignment dashboards.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
HIPAA Privacy Standard and Compliance The employee in this position will: • Not use or disclose protected health information about any member or other party in compliance with PLN’s policies related to state or federal laws such as Health Insurance Portability and Accountability ACT (HIPAA).
• Use appropriate safeguards to protect the confidentiality of such information.
• Report to PLN management any disclosure of protected health information not permitted by PLN policies related to state or federal laws such as HIPAA.
• Participate in PLN trainings or briefings on HIPAA information as scheduled.
• Consult with supervisor on any issues or questions about compliance under PLN policies related to start or federal laws such as HIPAA.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements • Minimum of three (3) years of full-lifecycle recruitment experience with exempt and non-exempt positions, preferably in an education/non-profit environment.
• English written and verbal fluency; Bilingualism in Spanish is strongly preferred.
• Proven experience in talent acquisition, campus recruitment, and candidate/hiring manager engagement.
• Proficient in developing and utilizing competency-based interviewing and talent assessment methods.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to represent PLN well.
• Creative and innovative mindset with the ability to think strategically.
• High proficiency in HRIS and ATS software and systems; Ceridian Dayforce preferred.
• Ability and willingness to navigate an ambiguous environment and adapt to changing circumstances while maintaining a focus on talent acquisition excellence.
Education and Certification Requirements • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or related fields from an accredited institution or a combination of education and experience · HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
• Knowledge of state and federal labor laws and compliant recruiting practices.
• Successfully pass all post offer, pre-employment screening requirements, including criminal background check, drug test and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
• Current certification in CPR/First Aid.
Special Requirements • Must have a reliable automobile for use on the job (mileage to be reimbursed).
Valid California Driver License.
State required automobile insurance coverage.
• TB clearance, to be renewed every two years.
