Medical Insurance Specialist
Our healthcare facility seeks a Medical Insurance Specialist to join our team.
In this role you will be responsible for all billing tasks related to surgery and to our two surgeons.
In addition, you will serve as the touchpoint for our patients when they have questions about benefits, coverage, and claims.
A successful candidate in this role will have medical billing experience, excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), and empathy for dealing with patients.
Bilingual communication skills are a plus.
This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, and is office-based in Beverly Hills, California.
Medical Insurance Specialist duties include, but are not limited to:
● Check benefits prior to consultations, communicate information to patients
● Request prior authorization for surgery
● Enter and send professional and ASC claims to insurance
● Check claim status for outstanding claims
● Work Accounts Receivable, correct and resubmit claims as needed
● Post payments
● Answer patient questions and take payments by phone
● Additional tasks as needed
Medical Insurance Specialist qualifications:
● High school diploma or GED required
● Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience with clear understanding of out-of-network billing
● Detail orientation
● Excellent organizational skills
● Ability to work alone and as part of a team
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus
● Can-do attitude
Salary: $20 to $25 per hour, commensurate with experience.
