Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD) staff couple the latest in information system technologies, such as continuous integration and continuous deployment, software architectural patterns, real-time operating systems, and visualization frameworks, with expertise in software architecture, software engineering, process improvement, and software development to deliver responsive, resilient, high-performance software intensive systems to our IC, DoD, and civilian customers.
The Engineering Application Department is part of the Information Systems and Cyber Division.
The department performs development and research focused on advanced visualizations, immersive technologies, web technologies, and software delivery for our government and civil customers.
The Intelligent Ops and Software Integration team is focused on supporting our customer laboratories in software solutions they include life and characterization software, software delivery, middleware development, and data visualizations In this role you will use strong enterprise Linux expertise and programming/scripting skills to manage, configure, deliver enterprise systems in both unclassified and classified environments that is mostly on-site, but with an increasing emphasis on cloud usage.
You will support engineers using these systems to perform engineering analyses in support of critical national space programs.
The types of analysis include modeling and simulation of space and launch systems, dynamics analysis, imagery processing, and more.
Work Model: This position will be a hybrid work model and require onsite work in El Segundo, CA and some partially remote work.
What You’ll Be Doing Supporting aerospace engineers, scientists, and analysts for mission-critical systems Architect, develop, plan, and implement laboratory computing and storage infrastructures consisting of workstations, high performance computing systems and storage, local area networks, and on-premise cloud environments Perform additions and changes to systems hardware, software, and operating systems including configuration, installation, and testing of new hardware and software to meet customer needs Analyze complex systems from a reliability and resilience perspective and drive operational excellence Architect new computing environments and cloud solutions for our customers Work closely with customer to coordinate tasking, facilitate communication, resolve technical issues, and ensure customer expectations are met Understand Security requirements and deliver systems and solutions that comply with those requirements Lead team in the implementation and operation of the computing infrastructure Work in a team environment, sharing knowledge and learning from others What You Need to be Successful Minimum Requirements: B.

in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline 12 or more years hands-on experience in Linux environments, systems administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and security hardening and compliance in unclassified and classified environments 12 or more years hands-on experience in operational support of computing infrastructure and lab systems Knowledge and experience in software and license server infrastructure Integration of Windows, Linux, and Virtual environments Agility in building and supporting highly available and robust systems for engineers, scientists, and analysts Knowledge and application of security and information assurance principles and controls Strong organizational and time management skills Effective interpersonal skills Current Secret Clearance or ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance How You Can Stand Out It would be impressive if you have one or more of these: Project development and technical leadership for small engineering teams Work experience in supporting laboratories with engineering analysis, modeling and simulation, and visualization Demonstrated self-motivation and willingness to take initiative Proven analytical and problem-solving skills when working independently or in a team Work experience with a wide variety of Aerospace customers, programs, and engineering divisions Excellent interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of customers and staff Ability to form and lead highly productive intra- and inter-organizational teams Certifications such as Red Hat certifications, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Cloud+, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or Docker Certified Associate (DCA) We offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business.

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
