*Job Summary:*
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Ambulatory Operating Room team in the vibrant setting of our acute care hospital.
As a crucial member of our healthcare team, you will play a pivotal role in providing exceptional patient care in our ambulatory surgery setting.
*Responsibilities:*
- Perform preoperative assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans for patients undergoing ambulatory surgical procedures.
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and assist the surgical team in ensuring a safe and sterile environment.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care during surgical procedures.
- Provide postoperative care, monitor recovery, and ensure patients are stable for discharge.
- Educate patients and their families on postoperative care instructions and follow-up appointments.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with established protocols and standards.
- Effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive and compassionate care.
- Adhere to infection control practices, maintaining a clean and safe operating room environment.
- Stay current on advancements in ambulatory surgery nursing and contribute to the implementation of best practices.
*Qualifications:*
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California upon hire.
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association certification upon hire.
- Minimum 1 year of Operating Room experience within an acute care hospital.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.
