The Director/Sr.
Director, Data Analytics will primarily be responsible for the use of content, marketing, product, and ad analytics in parallel with data science to formulate and track other operating KPIs.
He/she/they will partner closely with third-party database and tech partners as well as finance, acquisitions, and marketing to maintain a central hub where business leaders can understand and share insights across all properties and revenue channels.
This role will oversee product analytics that include digital (AVOD/SVOD/TVOD/FAST) and its consolidation with data from physical sales, e-commerce, licensing packages, and third-party data (e.
g.
, comScore, IMDb, etc.
) using an Azure database and Power BI visualization tools.
This role will require a candidate who is a strategic thought leader and proactive forward-thinker, who prioritizes data and analytics to provide insight on where the company should direct its future investment in the areas of content acquisitions, product development, marketing activities, and sales.
The role will also support the development of data-driven talking points for distribution sales, publicity pitches, and ad sales.
A crucial component to the role is to shed light on what and how people are watching/purchasing on various platforms, along with the ways those behaviors impact viewing across the various revenue channels and forecast how these trends might shift and affect revenue for long-term planning.
The successful candidate will also serve as an external force for the company, helping to grow existing strategic partnerships, evaluate business opportunities, and elevate the firm’s reputation as a pioneer in data analytics.

Salary: $90 - $130k if annualized DOE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to develop multi-year data strategy to drive measurable competitive advantage for Shout’s businesses.
Work with acquisitions, sales, and finance to develop projections for potential library and new film (and underlying IP, if applicable) acquisitions.
Implement emerging data science techniques and tools, third-party data, mathematical models, and advanced forecasting techniques to predict performance of current catalog as well as new acquisitions across all anticipated revenue channels.
Build strong industry partnerships and vendor relationships to leverage third-party development.
Develop unique insights about the value of film and TV titles, libraries, and IP in addition to viewer/customer behavior through quantitative and qualitative research including customer profiles, viewing/purchasing patterns, and market segmentation.
Participate in Shout’s strategic planning and the development of company business objectives in conjunction with other senior leaders.
Anticipate changing demands from Shout’s organization and business environment, and initiate action to creatively realign data objectives as needed.
DESIRED OUTCOMES:
Maintain and improve upon a best-in-class business intelligence system to form the backbone of Shout’s strategy for capturing and analyzing data.
Provide and evolve a business intelligence system to assist in evaluation of specific project and product segments.
Implement additional features to track operating KPIs.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
5+ years media entertainment and data analytics experience with exposure to consumer insights.
Power BI
Understanding of revenue forecasting via operating metrics.
Bachelor’s degree in data science, mathematics, or field related coursework.
IDEAL EXPERIENCE:
Advanced degrees in an analytical field are preferred, but not required.
Familiarity with Azure and other analytic platforms (e.
g.
, Tableau, MediaMorph, etc.
)
Understanding of data reporting methods across major digital platforms (e.
g.
, Tubi, Pluto TV, Amazon, iTunes, etc.
) and media metrics (e.
g.
, cpm, unduplicated reach, gross ratings points, subscriber churn, etc.
) a plus.
Demonstrates a deep knowledge and passion for Film and TV as well as an understanding of the current trends within the industry.
