Position Summary:
The Strategic Sourcing Manager procures goods and/or services necessary to run the business.
This position negotiates with suppliers to ensure quality, service and price of products and services.
The Strategic Sourcing Manager determines how to obtain the best value and/or how to improve processes.
This position manages relationships with internal customers, external customers and vendors.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
Manage the supplier relationships for materials forecasting, communications, constrained resource management, contract performance measures, issue resolution, etc.
Lead and support initiatives for manufacturing changes or capability and efficiency improvements
Collaborate with customers and vendors to improve supply chain efficiency and effectiveness
Lead cost-savings projects
Liaison between the company’s supply chain and supplier teams
Negotiate and manage short and long-term contracts to ensure optimum costs and reliable supply
Ensure contracts meet all compliance requirements
Initiate, analyze and implement new technologies, innovative programs, and improved procurement methods
Identify material supply risk
Seek out additional sourcing and opportunities for new suppliers
Serve as subject matter expert for Strategic Sourcing
Maintain in-depth knowledge of industry structure, economic drivers, supplier solvency, the competitive landscape, etc.
Manage a team where applicable
Other projects or duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree with 6 plus years of Procurement experience and 3 plus years of people leadership experience or HS Diploma/GED with 9 plus years of Procurement experience and 4 plus years of people leadership experience
Experience creating reports
Strong analytical skills
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with all levels of an organization
Strong negotiation skills
Strong organization, planning and detail-orientation skills
Strong experience with SAP
Proficient experience with Microsoft Office Suite, i.
e.
, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Master’s degree
Consumer products industry, i.

, beverage, packaging, food, etc.
