BIG PICTURE: We are looking for a dedicated and creative Casting and Locations Manager to not only find talented actors in the Los Angeles area but to strategically lead our Casting and Locations team.
This individual will be an expert at finding actors through online ads, casting calls, or their own personal network that can deliver high level performances for our short films.
The Casting and Locations Manager will oversee audition tapes, screen the best possible talent, present recommendations as to who should be cast, and present locations to be booked to the Director.
The ideal candidate has a strong network of actors both union and non-union, is an expert at analyzing scripts, role characteristics, and possesses superb organizational and time management skills.
Having great casting and locations are crucial to making characters and stories credible on-screen and is fundamentally important to the success of our videos.

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME: Creating new processes that will allow our casting team to become more efficient Reviewing audition tapes from actors applying for each role and deciding who the strongest performers are Organizing the talent for review and approval from the director Directly overseeing both casting and location processes and workflows Creating and tracking weekly/daily goals for casting team Assigning, scheduling, and monitoring all casting projects, anticipating various needs, and maintaining the organization of all files Reviewing locations and deciding which locations will work for each specific production Providing last minute emergency solutions in case an actor is needed to fill a role immediately Creating efficient solutions to workflow challenges and any other duties to support organization and the overall casting process Develop and implement casting strategies that align with the vision and objectives of each project.
Proactively scout and identify exceptional actors for lead, supporting, and ensemble roles through various channels, including auditions, talent agencies, and industry events.
Coordinate and conduct casting sessions, ensuring a professional and welcoming environment for actors.
Manage audition logistics, schedules, and communication with talent.
Work closely with key stakeholders to understand the creative vision and casting requirements for each project.
Collaborate effectively to ensure a cohesive and compelling cast.
Champion diversity and inclusion in casting, striving to represent a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives in our projects Stay informed about industry trends, emerging talent, and casting innovations to enhance the quality and diversity of casting choices.
WHAT YOU HAVE: 4+ years of experience as a Casting Manager, Casting Director, or a similar role within film production Previous experience at a network, studio, production company or talent booking company Able to effectively oversee various tasks and teams within the casting process with minimal oversight Strong personal network of actors with an exceptional ability to identify and source talent Understanding of applicable rules/laws as they pertain to casting and any legal requirements Knowledge of union vs.
non-union responsibilities and location permits Knowledge of child labor laws in case children are casted Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work after hours and on weekends and come up with solutions when emergencies arise Strong network within the acting community, talent agencies, and related industry professionals Excellent understanding of the casting process, industry standards, and contract negotiations Creative and strategic thinking with a keen eye for talent Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in casting WHO OVERSEES YOU: The Casting and Locations Manager will report directly to the Pre-Production Senior Manager WHO YOU OVERSEE: The Casting and Locations Manager oversees the Casting and Locations team WHERE IT ALL GOES DOWN: All the action takes place at our BRAND NEW studio in Burbank, CA WHEN THE MAGIC HAPPENS: This is a full-time role that will require at times extended hours, schedule will be discussed during the interview WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN US: We've kept our hiring bar really high - you will work with the best Our content is growing quickly, so you'll get the opportunity to take on a lot of responsibility and grow a ton personally!
