Overview:
Element has an opportunity for an Department Manager at our Los Angeles, CA lab.
In this role you will be a member of the operational leadership team reporting to the Senior Director and perform a variety of leadership responsibilities within the department to insure timely and accurate test results are delivered.
The Element Los Angeles laboratory offers extensive capabilities to provide space and satellite testing for the aerospace, military, and defense markets in Southern California.
Pay Range: $73000.
00 - $120000.

Responsibilities:
Lead, motivate, and mentor the operations team to ensure they consistently meet or exceed performance goals.
Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback and coaching to team members.
Analyze current processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements to streamline operations.
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and efficiency.
Manage and allocate resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and budget, to meet operational targets.
Monitor and control operational costs to maximize profitability.
Ensure that products or services meet or exceed quality standards by implementing quality control measures and best practices.
Address and resolve any quality issues promptly.
Oversee procurement and inventory management to ensure adequate supplies and materials for production.
Optimize supply chain processes to minimize lead times and costs.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, industry standards, and safety protocols.
Develop and maintain safety protocols to protect employees and assets.
Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and report on operational performance.
Use data to make informed decisions and develop strategies for improvement.
Work closely with other departments, such as sales, marketing, and customer service, to align operations with company goals.
Foster a culture of collaboration and open communication within the organization.
Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, operations management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Proven experience in operations management, preferably in [industry].
Strong leadership and team management skills.

Solid understanding of supply chain and logistics management.
Knowledge of quality assurance and process improvement methodologies.
