*POSITION SUMMARY:*
Under the direction of the Administrative Assistant of Behavioral Health & Social Services, drives a Watts Healthcare Corporation (WHCC) vehicle to transport patients/clients and materials to and from program sites, medical sites, contracted hospitals, and other community locations.
*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:*
* Transports patients/clients to and from the program site and supportive services.
Driver must ensure they are using the most current daily transportation list/schedule and that the correct patients/clients are boarding the vehicle.
* Transports program employees to and from the program site to WHCC when necessary (meetings, training, etc.
).
* Helps support patients/clients by making trips to obtain medications, personal items, pick up equipment, and/or supplies, etc.
* Refuels, cleans, and inspects vehicles daily to ensure vehicles are in safe operating condition.
* Reports vehicles in need of service and takes vehicles when instructed for required servicing and repairs, as needed.
* Maintains Trip Log records of destinations, mileage, transports, and any unusual incidents.
* In the event of a client emergency while transporting, the driver will contact the appropriate emergency personnel, observe the patient's response, and wait for emergency personnel to arrive.
* Participates in Staff Meetings and Staff Development & Training activities.
* May perform other duties/functions/projects as assigned.
*EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:*
* High school diploma or the equivalent.
* Must hold a valid Class B California Driver’s License.
* Six (6) months of safe driving experience transporting patients.
* Experience working with substance abuse and HIV/AIDS patients/clients preferred.
* Ability to drive a motor vehicle with good driving skills.
Ability to read a street directory, i.

, Thomas Guide Map book, GPS and/or other navigation System.
* Proof of current CPR & First Aid Training Certification.
* If a recovering substance abuser, must have two full years of continuous sobriety prior to employment.
Employees are subject to random drug testing.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.

Basic to intermediate computer and typing skills.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
* Ability to navigate email and electronic training systems.
* Driver must be able to set healthy boundaries/limits with patients/clients.
