NRC Research Institute, with locations in Orange and Los Angeles, CA is currently enrolling patients into our Hypertriglyceridemia research study! Our study is attempting to understand if a new medication is safe and effective at treating Hypertriglyceridemia.
Hypertriglyceridemia is a common condition in which there are too many triglycerides in the blood.
Triglycerides are lipids (fats) that provide energy to the body.
We get some triglycerides from foods we eat (like butter and oils).
Hypertriglyceridemia is important and needs treatment, but in most cases, it’s not a medical emergency.
Lowering triglyceride levels can help avoid complications that affect the heart or pancreas.
Most people with hypertriglyceridemia have no symptoms.
Factors that can lead to high triglycerides include: -Drinking too much alcohol.
-Eating too many refined carbohydrates (like white bread) or sugars.
-Eating too much saturated fat.
-Not moving around enough (sedentary lifestyle).
