Hello!
I am seeking to create a team to build an EdTech SaaS app/website.
ONLY Looking for Los Angeles-based individuals.
PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST:
I DO NOT CURRENTLY HAVE FUNDING, but am funding this myself for the early stages, so I can pay, but not much yet.
A simple way to describe this app would be ‘Netflix for Education’, though that is an oversimplification.
The goal for the first iteration is to have all core subjects, plus all electives, for grades K-12, for $9.
99/month.
Lessons will consist of a mix of video and audio content, games, puzzles, and multiple-choice questions.
Like Netflix, we will seek to use existing content, licensing well-known and lesser-known video and audio, and creating curriculum based on it.
For instance, a Planet Earth episode about rainforests could be the basis for a biology lesson for 6th to 12th grades, complete with multiple-choice questions whose answers are found in the episode.
Or, a popular kids financial literacy podcast may be the perfect basis for a lesson for 3rd to 5th graders, where comprehension can be tracked with a short quiz.
This is a large undertaking, and I have a clear vision of the steps to take in order to get started (think LEAN STARTUP), build a demo version, pitch to licensors and investors, launch a beta version, and turn that into a profitable app with paying users.
I am currently seeking INTERESTED individuals, with little to no overhead (students preferred), who are willing to help me build this.
Positions needed:
Full stack Developers
Web Designers
Game developers
Game designers
UI
UX
Assistant
These are currently project-based positions.
Pay is low for now.
Equity is offered
I would love to have UCLA students who can contribute even a few hours every week or two.
Maybe 10-20 hours a month.
I do not have an office yet, but I would love to rent a small office if I can find a small team of people to come together and work in person enough to justify the cost.
I have EVERY INTENT on making this profitable by January 2025 (hopefully sooner)
Please only reply if you have read this entire post and are still interested.
I would like to organize an in-person meet up in Santa Monica in the next week or so to discuss this with interested people.
Thank you in advance for your help!
