I am a college professor, mid-career artist, and musician.
I recently completed my PhD, and now my schedule is extremely full trying to establish myself as a local adjunct professor, while commuting, lesson-planning, and maintaining my art and music.
I am seeking someone to help compile the following opportunities:
1.
Faculty job openings in college programs in music, art, and interdisciplinary fields.
2.
Post-doctoral research opportunities in music, art, and interdisciplinary fields.
3.
Artist residencies, both short- and long- term.
4.
Calls for art locally, regionally, nationally.
Goal: a spreadsheet with links, deadlines, titles, location, and, if you are feeling creative/ ambitious, the level of suitability of each opportunity.
You will need to understand a bit about my music and art to know what opportunities are most suitable.
I am a drummer / percussionist / composer whose work and whose research exists between genres of jazz, contemporary music, avant garde, sound art, noise, performance, installation, and social-practice.
There are some opportunities that are right on-the-nose, and a lot more that take flexibility on my part, and some creative reframing of my qualifications.
It depends on how Traditional or Forward-thinking the institution is.
The rate at which you work and produce results may be appropriate for an hourly wage, or if you are fast and amazing, it might make sense for a much larger flat fee.
If your results are plentiful, the next phase may be laying the groundwork of each application by submitting resume and other materials.
The right person may also be talented at seeking fully creative opportunities outside of the standard job search that I am prioritizing.
