This position will support the national Advisory group in the management and development of commercial¬ technical expertise focused on innovative delivery of complex infrastructure projects (e.
g.
, DBFOM, DBFM, DBF, DB, progressive DB, CMGC/CMAR, progressive P3), and within the wider firm to support our public sector clients in the structuring and delivery of such projects.
The position will also support the firm’s delivery of program management services for public owners where HNTB acts as a Delivery Partner.
This position is focused on development of HNTB’s capabilities and project delivery in the area of collaborative contracting (i.
e.
, progressive DB, CMGC/CMAR, progressive P3) and aligning the firm for success where we act as a Delivery Partner alongside our public sector clients to deliver complex projects including: -Team development and resource allocation -Best practices, knowledge sharing and training nationwide -Project structuring and delivery options analysis -Procurement process, policies and guidance documents Solicitation documents and all necessary commercial and technical exhibits -Supporting clients across all phases of the collaborative delivery process - including finalization of key commercial terms, and negotiations leading to agreed price and schedule Where our clients include incentives for the performance of the owner's advisor as a Delivery Partner, develop and manage key performance indicators within HNTB’s control that align with project success as well as other commercial aspects of those engagements.
This position partners with senior Advisory team members to develop and promote subject matter expertise and best practices.
What You'll Do: Applies technical expertise and guidance to project structuring, delivery options analysis and commercial and technical provisions of procurement documents, with a focus on innovative delivery.
Advises on technical elements on complex projects across all phases of the project life cycle.
Acts as subject matter expert to provide strategic advice and analysis, and engage in marketing and business development, as well as preparing reports and presentations to HNTB leadership and senior client personnel.
Manages tasks or major workstreams independently, and interfaces with senior Advisory and client leadership to ensure 4for4 delivery while managing client relationships and day to day interactions with appropriate counterparts.
Responsible for successful contracting and project execution, working closely with regional HNTB staff and office leadership.
Prepares technical materials for client engagements, including strategic analyses, commercial documentation, technical provisions, procurement documents, and other materials pertaining to applicable subject matter focus.
Trains and instructs line personnel on innovative delivery and other Advisory disciplines.
Advises on business planning and supports marketing efforts of the line organization.
Works with the line organization in a lead support role on strategically important client and project pursuits, providing strategic input and market knowledge to expand service offerings and enhance win probabilities.
Contributes to strategic planning for Advisory and assists with thought leadership initiatives.
Mentors and oversees the work of junior Advisory staff through performance management and encouragement of professional development opportunities.
Represents Advisory and the firm at industry events and organizations, and drives thought leadership and external positioning efforts.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need: Bachelor's degree in relevant field and 12 years of relevant experience.
Master's degree in relevant field and 10 years of relevant experience.
PhD/JD in relevant field and 8 years of relevant experience.
What We Prefer: Core skills and experience in one or more technical engineering, planning or project control disciplines Experience in collaborative contracting, including progressive design build, CMAR / CMGC or progressive P3s Experience, ideally international experience, in Delivery Partner or alliance contracting Ability to develop industry best practice solicitation documents that achieve an owner's goals Ability to analyze appropriate delivery methods for complex projects and determine project packaging, phasing and risk allocation, with a focus on innovative delivery projects Experience in a multi-disciplinary environment with legal and financial advisors Understanding of the commercial principles underpinning innovative delivery Experience in the management and oversight of programs and projects using innovative delivery Broad knowledge of the infrastructure industry, key players, policies, existing programs, and precedent transactions Excellent communications and writing skills Professional demeanor, able to independently interface with senior client leaders Strategic thinker, able to see the broader picture beyond their assigned role and identify and advance opportunities to enhance service offerings Additional Information Click here for benefits information: HNTB Total Rewards Click here to learn more about EOE including disability and vet Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
