Enterprise Data & Analytics leads campus-wide enterprise data and analytics including data governance, architecture, data and application integration, database administration, and business intelligence such as reporting and analytics.

The Enterprise Data & Analytics team manages the technology, processes, and support needed to equip university stakeholders with thorough, secure, and accessible data.
The Reporting and Analytics team drives data-driven decision making at UCLA by providing delivering advanced data analytics, learning analytics, data modeling, automation, reporting and dashboarding, and other business intelligence solutions.
The Senior Business Analyst, Reporting & Analytics will lead the planning, design, and development of reporting and dashboarding processes/functionality for the university's ITS organization.
This role will own requirements, conceptualize designs, and support core reporting and data visualization functions.
This role will lead collaborative efforts across a broad range of university partners and stakeholders including students, faculty, and staff.
The Senior Business Analyst, Reporting & Analytics will effectively document requirements for reports and dashboards, create reports and dashboards, develop design documentation, collaborate with functional and technical peers to develop reports and analytics, test the effectiveness of developed solutions, and enable adoption through training support.
They will also provide strategic insights and recommendations based on data analysis to drive informed decision-making and improve business outcomes.
The Senior Business Analyst, Reporting & Analytics will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by enabling University stakeholders to effectively leverage data and insights in service of the institution's academic mission.

Percentage of Time: 100% Shift Start: 8:00 am Shift End: 5:00 pm Qualifications for Position 21 Records Qualifications Required/Preferred Five years of experience working in one or more of the following fields: information technology, data services, application services, IT service management, or related field.
Required In-depth expertise and knowledge of methodologies associated with analyzing processes and problems, information flow, and architecture, with a proven track record of applying these concepts to complex scenarios.
Required Proficient in data visualization and analytics techniques, demonstrating experience in designing impactful business intelligence solutions that effectively communicate insights to stakeholders.
Required Demonstrated ability to deliver end-to-end, user-centered processes by synthesizing stakeholder requirements, conducting comprehensive user research, analyzing market trends, leveraging data and customer feedback, and considering technical constraints or opportunities.
Required Extensive experience in conducting or facilitating requirements gathering interviews or sessions, showcasing the ability to effectively capture and translate business needs into actionable requirements for reporting and analytics solutions.
Required Proven expertise in supporting the development of robust test strategies and plans using widely accepted test methodologies or frameworks, ensuring the quality and reliability of reporting and analytics deliverables.
Required Strong proficiency in utilizing cutting-edge analytics tools to measure success, identify growth opportunities, and provide data-driven insights that support strategic decision-making.
Required Demonstrated track record of establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with diverse team members and clients, including executives, managers, technical experts, and end-users, fostering effective collaboration and communication.
Required Extensive experience working with and across functional groups, including cross-departmental coordination, to ensure alignment and integration of reporting and analytics initiatives within the organization.
Required Ability to make efficient, logical decisions in a rapidly changing environment, showcasing adaptability and agility in managing evolving priorities and emerging requirements in the reporting and analytics landscape.
Required Experience with one or more of the following tools: Tableau, IBM Cognos, IBM Cognos TM1, Oracle Reporting, or similar.
Required Strong written and verbal communication skills and is able to communicate complex technical ideas to a diverse community of colleagues and stakeholders.
Can relay technical information to audiences of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
