Connecting raspberry PI, stepper motor and driver (Los Angeles)

Hi, I'm looking for someone to help me in properly connecting raspberry PI, nema 17 stepper motor, TB6600 driver and power source for my hobby project.
Some sources suggested that 3.
3v GPIO's on raspberry are too weak to control Nema 17 but others say it works ok.
Anyways, it shouldn't be too difficult for someone familiar with IOT projects of this sort.
If you think it can be done remotely its fine or I can drive and bring the components with me - LA, OC ok.
