Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications:
Summary of role: You’ll be providing hands-on flight software engineering in support of design and development, analysis, and implementation for challenging and innovative new commercial space capabilities.
For this role, key qualifications include: Minimum of 5 years experience with commercial spacecraft architecture, flight software design, Satellite hardware, and System implementation and test.
Role is immediate, full time, and located in S Ca.
Successful candidate will need to be comfortable working in fast-paced commercial and start up environments and enjoy working with multidisciplinary teams on a diverse array of challenges related to satellite system development and implementation, including
Collaborate with multiple engineering functions to establish and design software algorithms, interfaces and designs for flight software systems
Develop code and integration of complex software components into a reliable fully functional software system
Develop software verification plans, test cases based on system requirements, industry regulations, and customer requirements
Develop test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
Integrate and test software in simulated environments
Desired Qualifications
BS in Engineering (e.
g.
, Electrical, Mechanical, Optical, Systems Engineering, Aerospace), with specific work experience in Flight Software
Knowledge of software test processes
Demonstrated ability to implement maintainable software in C/C++ or ADA.
Demonstrated experience with software revision control systems and workflows (e.
g.
Git, CVS)
Multiple platform experience is helpful (MS Window, Unix, Linux)
Experience with Scripting languages such as Python
Experience with MATLAB/Simulink is desired
Ability to assist with the resolution of unit test issues
Knowledge of FDIR and fault management
Extensive knowledge of system engineering methods and best practices for space systems
Excellent written and verbal communications with a demonstrated capability to work collaboratively with customers at all levels, partners, and colleagues
Must be a self-motivated individual who can work independently and in a team
Commercial space program experience strongly preferred
Must be a US citizen or greencard holder
Demonstrated ability to implement maintainable software in C/C++ or ADA.
Demonstrated facility with software revision control systems and workflows (e.
g.
Git, CVS)
The typical pay range for this position is USD $140,000 - $220,000 per year, total package.
Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, retirement plan and other benefits (all included as part of package)
