Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc.

This role oversees the operation of the administrative office building and parking lots, including the janitorial staff, mail pickup and delivery, and the switchboard/receptionist function.
Ensures that the building and its machines are properly maintained, serviced, and fully operational, including copy machines, HVAC, alarm systems, all utilities, sanitation, and pest control.
Oversees timely mail pick-up and delivery on a daily basis.
Ensures proper set up for meetings, including configuring chairs, audio/visual equipment, and clean up.
Supervises the employees in the department supplies and materials.
Produces written building rules and procedures for all occupants.
Assists safety coordinator in identifying unsafe building conditions and suggest effective remedies.
Oversees facility maintenance and construction projects from concept design through occupancy certification.
Responsibilities: Ensures that the building and its general purpose machines are properly maintained, serviced, kept in good repair and are operational.
Includes Xerox machines, HVAC, alarm systems, all utilities, sanitation, and pest control.
Meets the requests for assistance by employees within the building when they require help with setting up for meetings.
The help would include configuring chairs, audio/visual equipment, and clean up.
Oversees surplus equipment and furniture, and stores donated goods.
Arranges for item pick up and deliveries.
Schedules and attends weekly meetings with his/her supervisor, prepared with a notepad and pencil to record assignments.
Follows up on the assignments and reports to the supervisor on the status of the projects assigned.
Maintains a current project list.
Effectively supervises the employees in the department.
Completes fair written performance appraisals of those employees.
Oversees timely mail pick up and delivery on a daily basis.
Purchases and controls the inventory of departmental supplies and materials.
Produces written building rules and procedures for all occupants, and creates written job duties and procedures for employees in his/her charge.
Assists safety coordinator in identifying unsafe building conditions and suggests effective remedies.
Oversees major facilities/maintenance/construction projects from concept design through occupancy certification.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field Five to seven years experience Bilingual (English/Spanish) required Carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems Catholic Charities’ written operating policies and procedures, and accounting/budgeting and record keeping practices and organization County of Los Angeles, Property Tax Assessor’s Office policies and procedures regarding applications and filing for tax exemption certification Principle and practices of organization, administration, supervision, training, and evaluation Operation and use of departmental equipment – cleaning equipment (wet vac, floor buffers and polishers, shampooer), repair tools, switchboard, computer equipment and software, etc.
Proper work methods, safe work practices, and avoidance procedures for potential work hazards.
Supervises, directs, trains, assigns, and evaluates work of assigned personnel.
Displays sensitivity, tact and responsiveness in various situations and needs.
Handles public contact and relations effectively.
