In this role you will be responsible for developing and implementing the nutrition care plan for inpatients in the Pediatric unit and support the Nutrition & Breastmilk Fortification Lab.
You will work as a team member with dietetic technicians, food service personnel, nurses, physicians, and other health care team members to ensure this special group of patients receive the best treatment.
Responsibilities include: * Perform medical nutrition therapy: nutrition assessment, create growth charts, perform anthropometric measurements, create diet calculations, screen for biochemical values, determine FDI interactions, counsel, monitor barriers to adequate nutrition * Provide family-centered care by encouraging inclusion and education in the decision-making process relating to the care and interventions of the child * Support the nutrition lab daily activities as needed which can include checking patient log/recipes/labels, clarifying feeding orders, and enforce sanitation and cleaning policies * Assist with maintenance or replacement of equipment in the Nutrition Lab * Attend regular Peds conference rounds This is a temporary full-time position scheduled to end 6 months from hire date.

Salary Range: $37.

* Certification as Registered Dietitian by the Commission of Dietetic Registration.
* Minimum 1 year of experience in Pediatrics.
* CCS paneled.
* 4 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian, or 2 years of experience with a Master's degree.
* Knowledge and understanding of infant formulas and breastmilk fortification.
* Knowledge of nutrition care for varying age groups.
* Ability to assess patient growth, calorie, protein and micronutrient needs based on the Standards of Nutrition Practice and Specialty Guidelines.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to adapt procedures to patient education level, cultural practice, psycho-social and economic status.
