*The Community Mentor / Diet Tech *will assist the Registered Dietitian in monitoring and maintaining the dietary program.
The Diet Tech performs essential duties associated with the processing of meal plans, resident information related to meal patterns, compliancy, and safety pertaining to the nutritional care and food service of all residents.
Additional duties include grocery shopping, cooking, and cleaning duties to ensure proper sanitation practices.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* * Provides overall shift supervision to Community Mentor staff and effectively delegates tasks.
* Provides shift report at every shift * Provides shift oversight in all medication management, labs requested, medical appointments, TB tests, etc.
works closely with participating pharmacy and Urgent Care * Observe and supervise clients and the physical grounds to assure client safetyincluding*, *oversight to client daily shift schedule and ensure CM staff adhere to all activities * Assists in crisis prevention and/or crisis intervention*.
* * Admits, orients, welcomes and reviews client handbook with new clientsandConsistently completes client-related paperwork at admit and discharge.
* Performs searches, deciphers contraband from authorized items; labels and stores luggage for safekeeping.
* Ensures clients attend all scheduled sessions throughout the day and evening.
* Understands Client Handbook*, *consistently adhere to its guidelines, redirecting clients from negative behaviors.
* Provides transportation to clients*, *strictly adhering to vehicle safety and driving rules.
* Utilizes understanding of trauma-informed therapy model and client level system (“Degrees of Freedom”).
* Oversees client use of telephones, Client medication monitoring and Conducts and records urinary analyses processes and results, and performs property rounds on a regular basis.
* Client charting, recording client events/behaviors and communicating with clinical team, including Providing input about clients via email as well as during staff meetings * Maintains kitchen cleanliness at clinic and oversees labeling food * Attends in-services and mentor trainings.
*SPECIFIC MENTOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * * Ensure with culinary correct portions are being met for clients with eating disorders * Provide meal support during meals with eating disorder clients * Assist ED clients in attending ED-focused support groups/meetings * Understand clients’ individual meal plan/diet order to support client in meeting adequate nutrition goals * Complete all shift change requirements and documentation by the end of each shift.
* Willing to accept assignments between appropriate departments/locations and/or temporary assignments.
Willing to work beyond scheduled hours as needed.
* Always positively support the client community morale * Notify immediate supervisor or facility coordinator of facility or vehicle damage or repair needs.
* Other duties as assigned by supervisor, Executive Team, CEO *REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:* * General knowledge of twelve-step recovery programs * Ability to adhere to and enforce policies and procedures.
* Ability to work well as a member of a team.
* Ability to operate motor vehicles.
Must have a valid California driver’s license, and be approved to drive company vehicles.
* Basic written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
* Ability to demonstrate tact, resourcefulness and patience.
* Keen observation skills.
* Ability to adapt to diverse client groups.
* We will help new Hires get RADT Cert.
if they so choose.

Must have a good driving record and an active valid driver's license.
*QUALIFICATIONS: *Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or currently enrolled in an accredited Dietetics or Dietetic Technician program is a plus.
Knowledge and experience in the field of eating disorders treatment preferred.
Working knowledge of the Exchange System and the meal planning process.
May be required to work overtime, flexible hours, and work weekends.
