POSITION SUMMARY: The Restaurant Cashier / Food Truck Cashier is one of the key contact points for our guests experience.
A cashier is responsible for always providing enthusiastic and friendly Customer Service to each guest, generating sales, housekeeping, cash register operations (POS) and accurate cash handling.
Must be able to work a variety of hours including nights and weekends.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned): Ensure that each guest receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment including smiling, welcoming and acknowledging every guest.
Maintaining solid product knowledge and all other parts of Service whether in person or interacting with a guest on the telephone.
Make immediate decisions when guest assistance is needed and make suggestions to the guest for a complete guest experience.
Learn and maintain knowledge of all product information, product promotions, test products and advertisements.
Assist in maintaining a safe, clean and sanitary workstation at all times, including replenishing supplies (, napkins, spoons, knives, etc.
), cleaning counters and POS monitors, etc.
Assist in maintaining a safe, clean and sanitary lobby and/or restaurant areas.
Comply with ServSafe practices with regard to personal cleanliness and food handling.
Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash and media accountabilities at POS registers.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures and practice, including pricing and discounting.
Communicate guest requests to Manager on Duty, as needed.
Communicates with Cooks and employees assigned to the hot and cold prep lines to ensure food items are re-stocked before supplies are exhausted.
Ensures all paper and disposable items for these stations are well stocked and available for guests Cleans and sanitizes all work surfaces, dishes, utensils, tools, storage containers, and trays.
Cleans interior of restaurant including lobby, restrooms, windows, floors, light fixtures, signage and ceiling vents.
Empties trash and cleans trash receptacles.
Cleans exterior of restaurant including outside dining spaces and inspects and removes all trash from exterior of building.
All cleaning duties are performed following safety guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries to guests and co-workers.
Comply with ServSafe practices with regard to personal cleanliness and food handling.
Continually monitor for quality of food and service.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures and practice, including pricing and discounting.
Perform additional responsibilities as requested by the restaurant Manager/Supervisor as assigned.
ACTING AS FOOD TRUCK CLERK DURING CATERING EVENTS / FOOD TRUCK EVENT In addition to the duties described above, the following additional duties will be performed: Takes customer orders in an organized fashion Accepts customers payments and conducts money handling transactions according to BLCs money handling procedures Assists Food Truck Manager / Cook with opening duties, preparation, cleaning, stocking and closing procedures Performs dish washing and janitorial duties as assigned Focuses on order accuracy and promptness: Serving, assembling and presenting the food Prepares menu items such as tacos, platters, combos, family packages, beverages (aguas frescas), etc.
Packages take-out orders Other opening-closing Food Truck duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

HS diploma or GED (preferred) Bilingual in English and Spanish (a plus but not required).
Must be able to follow all safety, health and sanitation procedures.
Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification is required for all positions related to: preparation, handling and serving food.
