Position: Cook
Reports To: GM; KM; MOD; Supervisor
Classification: Full Time/Hourly
Job Summary: The cook is responsible for cooking and preparing food according to recipes and production guidelines while adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures.
The Ideal candidate for this position has previous cook experience, enjoys working in a busy restaurant and is capable of taking direction well and multi-tasking effectively.
Essential functions and responsibility of the position may very by Crews location, based on concept needs.
Essential Functions:
Setup or breakdown Hot Line station per operating standards
Cook food in various equipment
Check food while cooking to stir or turn.
Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes in accordance with Brand Standards.
Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
Complete Line Checks.
Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
Follow FIFO/ Health Department Standards.
Must exercise proper Food Handling techniques according to Health Department code
Check quality of ingredients and report issues to Management.
Monitor stock and submit requestion for items that need to be replenished prior to running out.
Keeps work area clean, sanitized and free of debris.
Change sanitizer buckets in accordance with Health Department requirements.
Effectively and respectfully communicates with other Station’s Team Members and assists the other stations when necessary.
Report any issues to Management.
Completes all daily side work and deep cleaning assignments.
Follow cleaning schedule.
Adhere to the policies, procedures, practices and standards set forth in the Team Member Handbook
Operates all equipment according to the safety guidelines for the equipment and exercises safe work practices when handling sharp utensils, hot surfaces and lifting heavy objects
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Proven experience as cook
Significant walking or other means of mobility.
Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 40 pounds.
Experience in using cutting tools, cookware, bakeware and utilize safety PPE
Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.
)
Must be able to operate and use all equipment necessary to safely perform all duties.
Very good communication skills.
